CAFe'2003 report
After a month the way through Siberia and Mongolia, we
zaprygivayem a train departing from Yekaterinburg in Kazan.
Every city in our the way to the West from Vladivostok reminded
more and more about comforts of home.
We arrive in the morning and look forward to seeing xPasha -
our main guide on this journey to an event at this time
is the most popular demo party in Russia - CAFe'2003. By
plan, however, we arrived a day earlier so as to look
City and somewhere to live before all starts.
After some hitches everything went like clockwork. First you
need to had to solve the most important question, and we
already see this, while traveling on the Trans-Siberian Railway
- pre-buy tickets. Unfortunately, although we have planned
everything in 3 days forward, we learned that all the tickets
to Moscow on Sunday already sold! However, xPasha, being
familiar with the peculiarities the city was able to find 3
tickets, using their connection. Now we ready.
First stop - the headquarters of the organizers. It seems that
half of them still not recovered from yesterday's organizational
responsibilities / booze. The first of those we meet,
MMA, the main organizer. We presented him a couple of beers
purchased in a nearby booth, and now there is the true spirit of
scenes:) We are discussing with him some difficulty in obtaining
pati Place and what is the alignment of the entire weekend. As
wake up people, we meet with everyone. Several of them
speak English well enough, others are able to
keep up the conversation, during which all big respect! Ja niet
gavarit ruski. One man - constantly entertaining us Kra3!
We were told that it would take us in his evening and where
We later went. It turned out that he is a good teacher
Russian. He taught us all the "most important" phrases to
send someone:) Armitage was more capable in
comprehension of this, and soon became a master of Russian
swearing under supervision Crazy. I always remember the famous
words' posulj na huj pideras'.
Now it's time to see some old classical Russian
things. It makes me realize how many talented people and
their works have escaped us because of language barrier. And it
is Because of this, I'm here, I want to meet these people and
bring together our scenes, and perhaps in the future to work
together commercial projects. In turn, they are well
familiar with the product groups in which I enter. I was glad
know that they know me here.
Later in the afternoon we reset their belongings in the
apartment and Kra3'a go to a walk in Kazan with him and xPasha.
City pretty good and we had a good time. It even happens
the girls asked us how to be photographed with a very
sex tourists:)
In the evening we try to taste party, coming to the party of
Place. After find a single entry, we get inside. Here we
meet with those who arrived earlier, including such
enthusiasts as Brainwave, CPU and team organizers. We
drank beer and shared with them the company. However, the
organizers uvedomimli us that the night party Place will be
closed and that we bolzhny will return to their places for the
night.
I must say that this is probably the most important difference
between all European party, which I visited in the past. K
Unfortunately, this limits the amount of time spent on
pati Place, plus you also meet some of the most
interesting people when you daty and kind, instead of
pass them by day:)
Thus, we arrive the next day when the party already in full
swing! Time to acquire the largest possible number
friends. The first stop as soon as we dropped
things - shop zauglom! People are slowly catching up inside, and
traditional for any party buhalovka begins. We again
met with the MMA, and even with some of the organizers. Us
said that quite a number of representatives as
local and regional press will attend the party
Place all day long and that they want to take with us
interview. We are definitely confused, but why not do
self-promotion?
I must say that the girl who took our interview dyal
television were quite nice, and even offered to show
city in the evening. Unfortunately, we did not have time to
support their proposal. But in general, we are quite surprised
the fact that a lot of pretty girls attended
party compared to the demo party in Western Europe. I guess
that the Russian sceners better able podtseplyat or may be
better explain what the demo scene to her friends so that they
do not think that it was "weird."
Throughout the day, party in full swing. Party split
2 days, as happens at any good party. Actions
occurring within the components and all the preparations,
tusovka outside - All filled with people supporting each other
in good mood. Specifically, we are also involved in this.
One major difference is that you will encounter on
Eastern European party (Poland, Slovakia, is that there really
bit computers. This is mainly computers needed to
display components, and several brought by visitors. I've met
people who do not like this, but I should not
agree, why do you want to go to parties and sit at your
computer? And in this case, you can meet personally with
people known only through the computer. So, for those of you
who believe in what you need to bring your PC to the party
advise you to rethink your strategy. Finish their work
to the party and come to simply relax and revel with your
friends!
I must say that the rest of the day begins to melt
in the second until we monitored the components and communicate
with people. All three of us were pleasantly touched by the
attention which udyalyalos us from all those with whom we
spoke. People are time approached us and presented. This
significantly facilitate the process of dating.
That evening we were invited to participate in what was rumored
is a Russian tradition - the "party within a party." It was
quite an interesting event, in general, all the organizers
and some other People were invited to a common dinner. Not
would say that drinking has been varied, but it is here I
met people stouter and support contact with them and
so far, and hopefully will continue. I can say that
We had a good time and it was one of the brightest
impressions of the whole party.
There's also a place components on the absorption of beer. It
so happened chtoya emerged victorious. So, even though they say
that the Russian drink a lot, they can not compete with such a
veteran like me! Ha-ha-ha! :) I look forward to a rematch!
The next day was definitely quieter, as many
rested with the previous evening. Similarly, as in previous
days, in the end all came back mood and desire
a good time. To date, were identified among
major components, so that people during long periods
time were employed. Many works were of good quality. I
sure that the coolest components for me throughout
party, were Spectrum. This machine is pretty alien to us,
but is an integral part of the Russian scene, as well as in the
C64 Europe. You should be treated with respect to the fact that
people can make the car 20 years ago fabricate such facilities.
R Unfortunately, after the wild demo compo we had to leave to
do not miss our train to Moscow. The same had to be done and
several Moscow sceners. Unfortunately, we missed
awarding prizes, but nevertheless, we still managed to
say goodbye to all our new friends and share
contact addresses. Also, the train occurred, another party!
I think that you can not so just go with the party:)
In general, the party atmosphere was just great. However,
drawback was that it was not party to the clock
full sense, but we were able to meet many. Not
I can tell you what sensations you experience when you come to
party where nobody do not know. You just feel the strongest
flood of new sensations, when the first party you're your
20yu acquainted with new people. Really cool
sensation. I hope I'm still able to in the future to visit some
Russian party.
I also hope to see as a more fashionable Russian scenery in
Poland at the Symphony demo party. It's really important to
European and Russian demo scene contacted as soon as possible
more.
