FunTop'99 vs Chaos Constructions'99

For the umpteenth time, hello, dear readers!
Only the blind could fail to notice that recently on the
Spectrum scene is a kind of escalation of the problem with
summer demoparty Designs Haosa'99. Numerous info files (or
so-called "rulezy") is flashed in front of our eyes, and an
interview with the coordinator CC'99 Vsevolod Potapov (Aka
Random / Concern Chaos) even forced a lot to think about. My
thoughts about all this I want to share with you today.
To prevent any misinterpretation of my words,
just say: I am not a supporter of CC'99. If you would
like, you can call me an opponent of the party (which will not
quite true, because, as a fan of Speccy, I can not be against
what is happening for the benefit of this platform). Actually,
my relation to the event and caused the writing of this
analytical and informational articles.
At this point it's safe to say that in most
shortly scene split into two camps: supporters
CC'99 and supporters FT'99. Personally, I consider myself the
second category of people and here's why ...
As shown by the year 1998, the project was conducting
FunTop'98 very successful, and its organizers have not given up
their ideas even in the wake of a crisis. Despite all the
difficulties with electricity party was held. All Russia and
the countries CIS now know that the organizers FT'98 - serious
and experienced (already) people.
Now let's talk about the party organization in St.
Petersburg. In Unlike Moscow, St. Petersburg has some notoriety
in terms of for such events. Honestly: the city on the Neva
I like much more than Moscow as a cultural and scientific
center of Russia, besides Peter incomparably beautiful city.
But! As a venue for demoparty St. Petersburg me (and not only
me) are not satisfied. Everyone knows what the outcome

So why should we go to the mythical (as said MMA)
party at Peter, If do know that FT'99 can be no
worse?? Organizers of the FT all Russia knows in person -
Wlodeck Black, Alex Research, Antares, etc. Sorry, but who has
ever seen Random'a? I understand, Vsevolod, is trying for the
benefit of the Spectrum, but it started to do it from far away
Australia's "slightly" more difficult than from Moscow. In his

reach - is quite real. It's no secret that going to Moscow, for
many it is cheaper and more convenient than Peter. As written

our crisis and standing plants, with such a sum of money?
Apparently, Vsevolod simply forgot that even if you work in
Russia, it does not mean that you earn! And even with all its
desire "not rough granny "many are simply not physically able
to attend CC'99 due to lack of money. Ideally I'd like to go to
Peter, but where do I find this facility? Nor should forget
that Random gets his salary as a programmer Australian (or any
other foreign) firms in dollars rather than in rubles! And the
course of each of them well known to us.
Now, about the cost of tickets for CC'99. $ 5 - now it's
5 * 25 = 125 rubles. At that kind of money I can easily whip on
bus from Kovrova to Moscow and back. I understand, this is the
maximum price, but that and $ 2 and $ 3 for others it may be
too expensive. I do not understand why the cost of tickets to
bind This notorious dollar, because we live in Russia, as in
any way.
Sorry, but personally I have the impression that
This party just want to make money. However, perhaps I did not
rights. Although, here's an example. At the same FT'98 Exploder
received fairly good money for winning the two compo. And cash

Gentlemen spektrumisty currently undergoing Speccy is not
the best of times, and we all, more than ever, need one Big,
solid annual party, such as FunTop. Why FunTop? Not least

opinion of many groups and people are going to conduct their
own party, such as Chaos Constructions, ArtComp, Complex Compo,
etc. Heard that even in Kazan will be something like. But
excuse me, why all this? Not better for us to unite their
efforts to create one, but really powerful party. Let it be the
most multi-platform and very popular, the funniest and most
