Part One.
How it all began.
Eh, not drunk yet
Russian men on earth!
It all started long before FunTop'a. Not really - yet
before ... :-) So, somewhere in December 1997'go the masses
appeared information, type: "Hooray, People! spring is expected
the new cool International Computer Festival, dedicated
platforms ZX-Spectrum, Amiga and MSX! Rejoice, for it happened!
"
And the People rejoiced, and they decided to participate in
Siem Reap, for people to see, and themselves, of course, to
show ... By January The whole world knew about FunTop98 in
August (but not in spring!), and therefore, it was time to
begin to organize and work a ... ;-)
And there was cast aside Serzh messagi Laser Soft'ov
(Obolensk) and Dr.Dash 'and (Tula), it's time to throw in a
freebie separately, tighten the belt tighter and with Bang (the
so- time) in the spring to start doing something, or at least
create visibility of the work ... People liked the idea and
screams that "It's time to kick all the ass" (sorry, of
course), broke into our correspondence and exchange "novem" ...
Soon STORM compiled, but not soon demo is written ... I
sat down effects, Dr.Dash and Steel Dragon / LS would also

Dr.Dash / DGN, Next-Stop/DGN, ANDY / DGN (Ex-Bitmunchers),
Dude, Last Zahary, Fyrex / MAYHEM (Ex-Bitmunchers) and others
have been on a general get-together in a market where Next-Stop
sells software for the Speccy.
Together with Dr.Dash 'it visited Fyrex'a (MAYHEM), where the

GPV, which would run on ... At the same time - well, very
slowly ... :-) Yes, some intro had Basic-loader, but the
majority went into the form of a code file only, which is
mandatory for running need to "drop" :-) stack command CLEAR.
Throughout apparently, the organizers were going to watch the
intro from the special viewer, which in the rules specifically
imposed a restriction on the use of the second page of RAM.
But ... Looks punctures happen with the organizers! :-) So,
GPV, in the words of sitting next to me Steel Dragon'a "terribly
inhibited "- SD was sitting on pins and needles, and constantly
struggled to "Jerk" in the side of the stage, in order to run

Corp, CLOT4K by Image Crew and vector cartoon with a fairly

Infinity by Anton Coder - a very nice effect and music!
Intra NeverLand by Eternity Industry looked very
stylish, and some effects (in particular - lightning and
spinning comp) made me a feeling of admiration ... Well, GOA by
Exploder generally performed at the highest level of coding, it
is clear to everyone! And the presence of music, of course, all
dobilo finally ... However, Vav and Eternity is quite cunning
and zabatsali all effects in one and the same resolution of 4 *
4, with the same engine ... And effects in the GOA is not in
full screen! ;-) In Dizzy same calculation was based the

seriously. I'll start with organizational issues ...

difficult to read anything on the screen ... :-( What is so

across the hall would significantly improve the situation!
Pre-registration - it is generally something! I understand
for images and music is a must (because of the huge
number of papers), but we shall intro and it is absolutely

work on the coding effects, the development of the script ...
What conclusions can we draw on Future:
1. Pre-registration only for the music and graphics.

but will ... ;-) Well, about the confusion with the first and
second place in the GFX-compo all have probably heard a lot ...
This is a large stone in the party organizers ... But the main
thing is still to come ... Quote: "Total has been deposited
with 138 correctly completed cards to vote. "So, just 138
Vote-sheets, while the total scores for all the work is
calculated as follows: 138 * (1 +2 +3) = 138 * 6 = 828. Verify
the amount of points in all categories and was surprised to
find that this is true only for 4K INTRO! >: - [] All of the
same COMPO other scores is different from 828:
Music: 774; (!) GFX: 822; Demo: 818 (10 lost points
enough to 1 and 2 positions are reversed! ;-))
Well? How so you can take!
Or, perhaps, in some forms, some items are not
bear - so if they are not "properly completed"
by definition! ;-) Still, even if not so, why not a word
comment was not? :-(
And in general, _deystvitelno_ _otvetstvennye_ people would
long ago have already published all forms of voting (the right /
wrong) - then people would have checked them and /
analyzed ... And where, one wonders, complete list
present?
So that organizers FT98, do not have to "bury our heads in
the sand" - because people are waiting for an answer to the
most troubling questions ... No need undermine people's respect
to the first "purely Spec'ovskomu" Festival! :-)
Finally I will say that last part I wrote is not from some
malevolence, malice, or to pour on someone with dirt ... :-)
I just _nadeyus_ that all of the above well, though slightly
will avoid in the future all these annoying bugs and
bugs! My job - to focus, your - to reflect and
work on yourself! ;-)
The festival, in my opinion, very much a success ... And how
rightly said vyprygnuvshy onstage :-) ARTY: "Keep the scene
alive!!! "
