Hello, All
Friends!
Let's write a game about Chip and Dale.
Genre - arcade with elements of logic. The engine is frame-based, just like on Dandy.
The music is stolen.
The time of action is our days. The scene is a filthy dorm block.
We need a coder and one or two artists.
From me: script, gags, texts; levels (if there is an editor or at least
engine descriptions); advertising; perhaps some small graphics.
The demo release date is August 31, 2006 (we're in a hurry to get to TI-3).

Hello, Soplik
Sop> Let's write a game about Chip and Dale.
Yes, different groups tried 3 times and still nothing.
Making the game fit the frame will clearly not have the best effect on
graphics and playability.
I don’t know of any engine that would allow you to freely scroll in any
direction

Hello, Soplik
Sop> 160*160=25600
Sop> 256*128=32768
Sop> 256*64=16384+odd fill=GBC
What are you talking about?
In general, I advise you to check out Mario from Gogin.
It was distorted to the point that the level map was drawn taking into account the progress in the frame,
That's not how games should be made, IMHO.

Hello, Soplik
Mario - check it out. True, as a user.
In fact, I want a beautiful platform on Speck. Chip and Dale - just
the first option, thought up offhand. There is no script yet, there are several ideas,
Quite childish, so you can write something else. Elements of logic, quest, RPG
(most likely a quest) are necessary - otherwise it will be “the same moonshine, only worse.”
If you can’t get an engine with free scrolling, there is no need to do CHD
sense and you need to come up with another game. Or abandon the frame.
In principle, you can try a double engine, "horizontal" and
"vertical" areas on the levels - hemorrhoids are still the same, but write something like
really.

Hello, Soplik
Sop> 5. “Horizontal” and “vertical” _level_.
Sop>
I’ve been thinking here, straining my memory, and I can’t remember - is it in the original?
Was it different on the SNES? ;)

Hello new art
I will play and pass without cheats :)
_especially_ if it is not a blind copy of the original (you can draw
other levels, other enemies, different plot)

Hello, Soplik
The levels, enemies, plot will be different, even if we do ChD.
If it’s your own, it’s clear that everything is from scratch.

Hello, Soplik
Sop> 5. The “horizontal” engine can be converted to parallax scrolling.
Better make SG2, it will be especially funny if you do it earlier than STEP on
pc. =)
Double interest guaranteed.
Who will play your arcade?
There are already a huge number of them on the spec, albeit not in a frame.

Hello, Soplik
I think such a game would be approached with an engine like in Alien Syndrome - when you approach
edge of the screen, he quickly (speed is the most important thing here) familiarizes himself with the place
scrolls. As a result, it will even be possible to decorate the game.

Hello, Aprisobal
Also an option.
And for ChiD, apparently, even better. Still, after a line it will be a little gloomy, and
double scroll is also not here.
I just noticed that you don’t need to save the background, that’s what struck me :)
So:
- frame
- color
- familiar scroll when approaching
- Decrunching of sprites as they appear.
So, what?

Hello, Soplik
Sop> Coder - no problem, I can’t find it, so I’ll learn it myself.
Sop> Artist.
Sop> If there is an artist, there will be a game, if not, then no.
Try to interest Surfin. But promise here that the game will be 100%
or pay a penalty. Kirill, unfortunately, is the only artist today
which works for different teams.
I want to emphasize once again that he works and his current material
the situation is precarious, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to support him financially.

Monotonous and straightforward.
Why is this a joke under "LOLO"?
In general, the idea is not bad, I also had similar thoughts after watching it
cartoon, only stopped possible problems with copyrights.

Hello, Soplik
Sop> A new idea came. Three penguin commandos go from Antarctica to
Sop> Arctic. Tactical platformer. You play as one of them. Dash
Sop> cover.
Sop> Is it better to develop this or is it better to write Chip and Dale?
This is better :) Chip and Dale, although they rule , they already exist!
And finally - it smells strongly of Madagascar, but it smells nice and doesn’t stink :)
Sop> Basically, I have three heroes. Daffa, Zyuzya and Pupu. Daffa - old
Sop> frostbitten, wears earflaps and wears skis.
With a star! Soviet penguin! RULEZZZ!
Sop> Zyuzya is such a cool commando, she loves to kill with a machine gun.
Yeah. I love these. Let there be a parody of the beloved Duke Nukem, and
The name will be Dyukunyuk :)
Sop> Pupu is small, cute, defenseless. Daffa's son.
like this? :))
Sop> The first level is the mission in Australia. The penguins are walking in single file. For
Sop> to disguise themselves, they dressed up as kangaroos.
Sop> Second - Antarctica: there and back. Penguins take their costumes
Sop> because after Australia there is nothing to do in them.
Why - back and forth?
Sop> They shoot back at polar explorers. It’s not good to shoot back at polar explorers! It’s better to let there be aliens, and let us
saving polar explorers!
Sop> They reach the Vostok station. If the engine allows it, it will be possible
Sop> make a trip on an all-terrain vehicle in this part.
Sop> Next - Africa, India, the Himalayas, then the penguins stumble upon customs
Sop> and decide to take a detour through the USA, then a mission at the zoo, then...
Sop> in short, you can come up with a lot of things like this.
Sop> Yes, it’s somehow more clever with penguins.
Yeah.

Hello, Soplik
You need to come up with a goal.
And even though they are penguins, just running around the screen... is undignified.
