This is why I’m interested... I found one interesting microcircuit, at an acceptable price for
such price opportunities. It has a built-in floppy drive controller, but it doesn't
compatible with 1818VG93. In addition to the flop controller, it also has a lot of different
goodies on board, which will be announced later.
I'm wondering how much compatibility with 1818VG93 is needed, or is it possible
Can I get by with standard TR-DOS functions when programming?

It depends on what goals to pursue. If compatibility is needed, then VG93, and if necessary
the ability to connect HD drives, then on any clone of i8272 (nec765). Both
schemes have a common drawback - the RAW track read command does not work correctly
(bit synchronization failure occurs). There is another option - implementation
controller on the FPGA, then you can support HD floppies and commands
compatible with VG93, and at the same time reading the track will work correctly.

You don’t need it anymore... You need a normal CF/IDE support, namely FAT16 and use
disk images without loading them into ramdisk. Someone already said what it is already
there is, but I forgot to say where it is...
Better yet, switch to direct use of SD/MMC (without any small controllers
ala IDE - SD/MMC), because this will allow you to use matrices not burdened with redundant
number of legs (it’s better to finally hang it on the AY ports).

These modes make sense if IRQ/DMA is available. It's just a bidirectional port
(and even more) has already existed on spec for 100 years in the form of 580BB55.

above, then is there a need for a flop as such? I doubt that
someone chose a spessi as their main car. Everyone has a pussy... turned it on
I uploaded it via cable to some storage device and that’s it... People just need it together
get together, come up with something like EtherBoot for the COM port and here you go:
The system broke down - I booted from the cable, and that's it.
HM. Again, there is something to think about at night.

The speed is quite acceptable.

The problem with the RAM disk and i8272 is only because they work at the level
call #3d13. If you make a VG93 emulator on a plis, you can read data from
udi image. Moreover, this image can be located anywhere: even on RAM
disk, even on a flash drive. In this case, absolutely all programs will work (even with
sophisticated defenses).

There are advantages both here and there:
In the case of a screw:
- Smuk has a limit on the number of floppy disks;
- only a screw is used as a carrier;
- memory is free;
- when you turn off the power, the saves remain.
In case of memory:
- any media supported by the system (currently screw and SDROM);
- The number of floppy disks is not limited in any way.
From my point of view, the second method is more preferable, since at this time
There's a lot of memory clones being released and in the future (and that's what it's for)
intended). And of course, flexibility in supporting any media.
The main argument of opponents is turning off the power.
