-DIGITAL FACTORY V1.0
(C) ZMAN / U.C.G. '96
________________________________
Direct purpose of this utility - Digitization of sound with an
ADC (analog-digital converter) under the DAC (digital to analog
converter or COVOX).
Management: SINCLAIR JOYSTICK.
Hardware requirements:
RAM: 128K (more than
better! );
ADC (desirable than digitize
will that be? );
COVOX (also advisable to listen
you all are going?).
Now, in order:
When you boot-DF 1.0-program
determine the amount of memory your
Spectrum and otinstaliruetsya under
him with the message:
<... K MODE INSTALED>
where ... - Memory;
If you have a Spectrum 128K then
program involves 5 banks
memory of 16K each (about 10 and
seconds of sound with an average quality), but if you have a
Spectrum 512K - PENTAGON, or other (with
port for switching banks
Memory - 32765), the program
involves 24 banks of memory
(About 40 seconds playing with
average quality) ...
Next, the program will ask for the number
port on which the 'hanging' your
COVOX, if you are satisfied with the port
251st, then press <Y>, if
No - <N>, and enter your
number.
Operating panel:
Working in the bottom panel
2/3-ti screen, the upper treteto ostsilogramma, which is
divided into two parts - why? - now to find out ...
On the left pane you will see
these options:
START - start address of digitization,
varies from 49152 through 65515.
LENGTH - length of sampling varies from 4 to 16384 (for each
bank of memory, of course!). BANK - current bank changes
1 to 5-24 (see above).
SPEED-This option adjusts the frequency of a sound when
digitizing such, other words, the lower the value of this
option - the better will be digitized and versa; varies from 1
to 255 although the maximum value at which I digitize it was 35
...
Accordingly, options START and
LENGTH in the upper 1 / 3 of the screen displays ostsilogramma,
left part of which displays the records from the address START,
and the right part from address START + LENGTH-124
ie the end of the right-hand side corresponds to the end of
digitization, it is for so that you can identify
beginning and end of sampling not
hearing, and more precisely - visually.
On the right side pane you will see the option: PLAY and
RECORD, with inscriptions -From-to-, and among them two
option with the numbers of banks - an option
PLAY loses the digitization of
Bank in the first option to the bank
specified in the second option.
RECORD-from-to-similar
PLAY but, unlike the latter,
no one loses, and the numbers sound
If you select this option appears
Post-PRESS SPACE ...-, you
must include a tape recorder (music will be heard, of course,
if you have ADC and COVOX) and press SPACE - start
digitization.
Below are three options:
PLAY BANK-playing of the current
bank address START and length -
LENGTH (incidentally, the first bank
been 'sitting' my digitizing).
RECORD BANK - digitization in
current bank.
DIGIT MODE: NORM-This option indicates which mode of digitizing
Currently included: NORM or
NORMAL - Normal mode, ie
values obtained from the ADC can
do not change, click once on
This option - the regime will be replaced NORM
on DOUB or DOUBLE - this mode
should have used when digitizing made you play fairly quiet
mode DOUBLE raises the volume on digitizing twice.
The remaining options: LOAD and SAVE.
LOAD - program will ask you
name of the file, the file is loaded at START, the current bank
length is taken from the catalog
disc.
SAVE - write a file from the address
START and LENGTH length of the current memory bank.
Listen you have made possible the digitization and the
assembler:
DI
LD HL, ADR; top
LD DE, LEN; length
CYC LD A, (HL)
OUT (251), A; COVOX
LD B, N; N-retarded
TORM DJZN TORM; representation
INC HL
DEC DE

That's all ... I hope you find this tool useful for
yourself!
