Born Dead: The next chapter?
---------------------------
official press release by UnBEL! EVER ^ x7m
for ex-USSR users ZX-Spectrum
Dear users Speccy! Today I
I want to tell you some ideas on
the further future of one of
the largest to date electronic
Publications - Born Dead.
I hope all of you know perfectly well what
Born Dead!? If not, let me remind - Born
Dead is the e-newspaper (or disk-zine
If anyone it is more like it), published by the end of the
1998th year in the city of Samara by a group of people known as
the Legendary Born Dead Crew. The publication is targeted at
different segments of Internet users Computer ZX-SPECTRUM. To
date, published 16 issues, the release date of the last - July
2000th year.
Creating a newspaper, we had two aims, both of which can be
considered primary. Interesting and sensational material
lozhivshiysya based publications are always intertwined with
the latest programming technologies that are embodied in the
shell. Important part of it was musical and artistic design, as
well as one overall style and design that was developed and
maintained throughout all rooms.
Two years, Born Dead, by many reviews,
is a leader in electronic information space ZX Spectrum. We
managed to not only communicate to the latest news readers
first, and continuously improve that the bar that responds to
the contemporary ideas about the electronic edition. But most
importantly, thanks to the fantastic popularity of Born Dead'a,
sprang mapping Sleep entire regions of our country and were born
unprecedented to the village on SPECCY phenomenon -
disk-zine Scene! Moreover, the successors of our business
bravely threw a challenge "to the founders of the fathers" in
the form of new, original ideas and independent design of their
publications. There is real competition, which made issue
disk-zine'ov truly interesting and worthy deeds.
At the same time, work on the Born Dead'om
left little chance for development
other projects. That is why a sober
assessing the situation today, I -
UnBEL! EVER ^ x7m - decided to openly declare
that:
from this point conclude modest
torture of any organization projects
on the demo / game scenes and totally devoted to
schayu stsenovoy a journalist. Together
so, on behalf of all newspaper publishers,
I have to say about _prekraschenii_
Project BORN DEAD ...
According to the results of the last issue, it is obvious
that we get the most from the current format of the newspaper.
Further development impossible, since it inhibits both the
existing shell, and all that ideological schema which made the
publication. BORN DEAD continue to do that format, what it is
now, would stay in place and slowly but surely come to a
deadlock in which hit the time, many other publications.
However, I know what to do to
create a new publication, the publication of a long and
bright future, dizk-zine 21st century! You
probably already wondering how will
look like the shell of the disk-zine'a in
which side will be 50fps
scroll, and what hardware is required for
his work. You see, you too fixated
and going nowhere. Edition of the twenty-first century is
something more than just text, sprites and
Scroll ... And it's probably more soon
will come into your home!
So, first of all new e-zine will work on any computer that is
compatible with ZX SPECTRUM 128K. Moreover, the notion of "Any"
includes a disk interface! We do not going to restrict
readership only those who use the Beta Disk.
Further, there will be no restrictions on
font size and use of graphics. Material can be printed in any
font, use as little sprites and
whole full-screen images, as well as
have an arbitrary coloring. And of course
all this will be accompanied by 50fps shell, with the
smoothness and efficiency Guaranteed by any model ZX
Spectrum and clones.
The publication will contain material on the two
major languages - English and Russian. By
possible we will duplicate each
article in both languages, but be prepared
read the information you just
in English - it is quite natural in
our time!
The main theme of this e-zine'a demoscene
and everything associated with it. However, apart
We plan to publish historically
and research material on the 8-bit
computers. Despite the fact that the platform
for e-zine'a would ZX SPECTUM 128, it is not
prevent us from writing about other, equally interesting home
computers. Promise importantly - the material is highly
professional and certainly interesting.
Because the project is in the initial
stage of development, there is no question of the periodicity
of the publication. The first number will be released no later
than the end of October this year. All will depend on the
coherence of all those who will work on this project. It is
natural that basic structure of publishers are well-known
creators of you old BORN DEAD'a. However, is not without new
faces! First and foremost, we need sponsors interesting
materials related to the topic of publication, as well as
people capable to translate and correct texts in English, as
well as some European languages.
All of your questions and suggestions you can send to the
above below contact address. There also can write to all those
who want to join project.
