Mekka Symposium 2000 - one of the world party, that
throughout its range and a commercial basis has not lost the
spirit true demoparty. What could be more interesting in this
event for Spektrumista? How do you say ... Here, for example
C64 compos, that took place there. After spending some
associations can be soberly assess the situation - how strong
the C64 as an 8-bit computer they have and how everything
started / promoted in the field Speccy at us.
So, on the C64 compo were presented:
- SID Music. 31 module. One work by one author. I, for
Unfortunately, I can not evaluate the quality of music - not a
specialist. As far as I understand from info, MUSIC has been
much more, but lose only that it was preselekt.
- C64 Gfx. 25 works. Entirely different quality. There is also
a fact that we would call absolute feces. However, about 10
papers deserve the highest estimate - this state-of-the-art.
The harsh battle for prizes: first place - 114 points,
Fourth - 99 points.
- C64 4k intro. 14 works, besides a variety of quality.
Worthy of viewing, in my opinion, only the first 4 places. Quite
interesting nomination, because, unlike the Speccy, there is no
monotony of ideas and the dominance of chunk'ov. Although
nothing super revolutionary point I can not.
- C64 Demo. 13 works, of which at least 7 are worthy of
attention. The first place to democompo - Deus Ex Machina /
Crest - still do not released, though two months have passed
since the party. In the second location brilliant creation of
the German team Plush - demo from which I fell into a deep
insoluble precipitate. In the third place by inertia, Smash
Design work Triage 4 - none New FX'a (!), the entire demo, as
it were remixed and cutting of the previous works the same team.
By the way, 1st place in PC democompo work all the same Smash
Designs. Demo is not particularly cool, but there is a
possibility setup'e settings on a wide range of video cards
(not even existing in nature). So, is there a couple
resolution'ov, that demonstrate what to look for Speccy cool
3D (like if megahertz to add, but the structure of the screen
to leave the same). Sight, I tell you, awful.
4th place - Bastard / Breeze. Fun job with a nice design and
gags on a course of action.
5th place - Movie World / DSP. DEMO 2000th year in which almost
fx'y all go in a new c64-screen mode. That's what
have a video processor: no matter how hard Explore, it is still
something always remain unknown to others!
2nd place - Feeling Retro / Resource. Complete, 100% animation,
but done with such sincerity and non-transferable to a pain
exciting story of all - ELITE. I had my way, this work would be
third. That's really when and where you want to use
animation, this is exactly how it's done here.
The remaining demos for the most part are not of interest.

All of these activities with MSy2k on C64 I experienced a
profound positive shock, which is not experienced by party
stuff'a since FT'98! AND Despite all this, I want to believe
that this year such a shock can experience from working with
CC'000. And now word Raver'u, who visited the MSy2k personally!

Party in the town of snobs and SPECTRUM in the world
party
Symposium 2000 in Mecca once again took place in this,
language itches say e @ # $% mom German city as Fallingbostel.
Well. An awful lot of people, great spirit and stsenovy
party-atmosphere, a lot of fun. Although, because of poor
security there were problems in some people, I did not notice
it, making all prohibited by the rules of party time thing; D
Demos: PC - a nice 3D; Amiga - less than 3D, but fun, C64 -
almost a shock, new and good works; good things on the PSX, and
even first Dreamcast demo from Hitmen - it is an old c64 group
and that the Playstation was the pioneer. They also presented
GBC demo on the wild-compo. And then there was Spectrum - some
not very good demos show up under the emulator. Next time I
have to organize the show Spectrum demos, hmm and maybe
compo? Here are just a peak of activity on the stage behind us.
Some Dukes said that the scene is dead - it's very fashionable
probably so to speak. I had had conversations with the
organizers of the Assembly, and Random also spoke with them -
showing the Speccy demos at ASM'e without problems can be
organized. A similar demonstration can be conducted on The
Party, if I arrive there. But it can be really, already too
late??
Who knows ... Sorry, I'm short, but for now, let's - do
