ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Artur Ishmurzin → To All 16 February 2000
I finally got out of the down. and in commemoration of this event, I will regal you with one entertaining story directly related to the echoing topic. Let it be known to you that some time ago I graduated from the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications, Faculty of Telecommunication Networks and Switching Systems. So, we had one subject called “digital and computer technology”, in the third year. In general, they were engaged in this very technique. but at first they tortured us on such terrible pre-revolutionary coffins, the so-called. UMK (universal processor kit, or something like that). The appearance of this thing was terrible - a coffin ~0.5x0.4x0.25 (in meters). The insides are even worse - 580vm80 with n number of kilobytes, two ordinary eight or six digit indicators were used as a monitor, the keyboard is akin to a calculator. In short, what am I talking about? and for you to imagine
what a monster it was..
and on it the poor students scribbled their labs and coursework on programming
in the machine code of the VM80 processor and the design of 8-bit computers.
not so long ago, two former students of this institute (one of them your humble
servant) gave the idea to the head of the department of CT and USE (digital technology and control
telecommunication systems) to scrap these coffins, and in returnuse
the zx spectrum emulator, placing it on ownerless three-ruble notes, which had previously been collecting dust in the corner of the laboratory.
the head of the department doubted for a long time, motivating his doubts by the lack of methodological
guides on this software product in particular, and on zx spectrum in general.
doubts were successfully overcome by providing all the necessary
materials into the hands of this dude.
were soon delivered and two emuls were demonstrated - Shalaevsky
and UKV. The second one won a landslide victory, thanks to the presence of a built-in monitor-debugger, its simplicity and efficiency. the winner was successfully placed on all three rubles. and the UMKs have been sent to the warehouse, what will happen to them should not interest us.
at the moment we have the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications and
its students who are learning the basics of programming not using the fucking Vm80, but in
the native and close assembler z80, and the principles of constructing 8-bit computers not using
the example of the flight of imagination of domestic developers, but according to the genius creation
Sir Clive.. albeit through a pussy. let.. let the pisyuk serve for the benefit of
Spek.
ps: and recently I found out that this year several graduates will write
thesis on this emulsion. I didn’t expect this... :))
With best wishes, [ZX] ar...@mail.ru

It’s a pity that you didn’t understand anything of what I wanted to say...

And what does this change?

Result: three stars = [+].
Plz, refrain from writing letters here for one month, otherwise your
boss will be completely disconnected from this echo.
