Hi All,

Day, good people!
I have a few questions:

1. Is it possible to print on the Pentagon from ZX-Lprint to CM6337 in an alternative
encoding and how?
We print only from TLW. It is clear that it works with KOI-8, but how to make it work with an alternative encoding? Does anyone have
instructions for this printer (preferably in electronic form)? Or at least tell me
the sequence of actions.

2. Help for Glitch versions from 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.1.

3. Does anyone have any recommendations for setting up XTR-modema, as well as
selecting elements.

4. The same goes for setting up GS, connecting it, etc.

With respect, Sasha Ksor/Perspective

You can recode the text. The only question is what. I guess that
iS-DOS's printer driver does this transparently.

You should ask Lomov. Something about the current flowing

easily. through your driver. writing it takes 10 minutes.

conversion table. I once wrote a driver, albeit for Scorp, for
ZX Word just for the 6337. I don’t think that programming a Pentagon is more difficult.
only I don’t have a Pentagon for experts.

SY> Maybe someone has instructions for this

Only paper. I can send photocopies.

SY> Or at least

we get a byte for printing, change the encoding according to the table, throw it into the port. All. :)

SY> 3. Does anyone have any recommendations for setting up XTR-modema, and

with that to St. Petersburg.

SY> 4. The same thing for setting up GS, its connection, etc.

what to connect it to? stuck it in the slot and that's it. :) if it's in the Pentagon, kill it right away. Alk hasbad experience. GS works, but not as it should - it's buggy. why he
couldn’t figure it out, although he’s not bad at rummaging around with hardware.

I’m saying that I know. The Pentagon doesn’t have enough signals, at least for GS,
however, for connecting hayes too. them It can be done, of course, but
you will have to solder it additionally.

And I almost fell out of my chair laughing :)
Let’s write what signals are missing there to connect the Hayes.

As I vaguely remember, GS conflicts with the printer (and the cache). And the printer on
the Pentagon is disabled by default.
I also don’t really like the decoder there on a bunch of diodes, but it works in most
cases.

What's the problem with soldering?
especially since complete decryption is no worse than capturing IORQ.

poor Real Masters! How did they write their demos on Scorpi and everything was in place?! :) And in general, demos are not the most important thing that is on the echo tag. By the way,
how many demos are supported by the same GS that started it all? Something
only 1 comes to mind - Anamnesis (from the same Real Masters) which
doesn't need a pentagon at all. :)

SY> alternative encoding and how? We only print from

As far as I remember, when the printer is turned on, it is not KOI-8 that is installed, but a
modified alternative encoding. Her Cyrillic alphabet is not interrupted by
pseudographics, so some of the Russian letters when printed are visible in the form of
pseudographics.

SY> Does anyone have instructions for this printer (preferably in
SY> electronic form)?

There is a plate with a list of commands specifically for this printer. Follows in the echo
because it may be interesting to others.

SY> Or at least tell me the sequence of actions.

Before printing, you need to send the following
sequence to the printer: #1B,#52,#0E
> ==== Windows Clipboard started here ====
56. "Selecting standard sets characters" -> AP2 R n -> 1Bh
52h n
When entering a sequence, all data is printed according to the set
characters of the code table specified by the parameter "n":
n=10 - code table KOI-8 GOST 19768-74;
n=11 - code table KOI-7H0 GOST 27463-87;
n=12 - code table KOI-7H1 GOST 27463-87;
n=13 - combined code table KOI7 L/R;
n=14 - PC code table (ALT1);
n=15 - additional code tablePC table (ALT2).

code table, you just need to turn it on after initialization.

Why is there so much soldering??? Soldering takes 30 minutes of work, and well, you also need a flash
, otherwise there are no problems, I connected this miracle in 1 hour.

well, this is already difficult for me... imho then everything needs to be decrypted completely, because
if your piece of hardware is completely decrypted, this does not mean that something else can be
decrypted from what is already on it board but this is imho...

From Alexander Araktcheew To All 16 September 2002

WB> /OIRQ and /IORQGE - different signals?

Yes.
/OIORQ - signal /IORQ active in SOS
/IORQGE - signal blocking /IORQ to part of the circuit (most often simply /IORQ through
resistor)

From Kirill Frolov To All 17 September 2002

SZ> I have no idea, but I have only encountered this - /IORQGE.

/OUTIORQ - the IORQ signal from the Beta-Disk controller to the Spectrum board
is blocked when writing to the controller port. The Beta-Disk controller receives
IORQ directly from the processor, and /OUTIORQ.
/IOGE (IORQCE) is a signal specific to the ZX bus. On Scorpion
this is IORQ connected through a resistor and must be blocked by an external
device
when accessing its ports. In KAY 1.5 version /IOGE this is a purely digital
port blocking input on the computer board.

To connect GS you need /DOS and /IORQCE (IOGE) signals. Pentagon requires
installing a resistor between /OUTIORQ from the controller and the computer board. The signal
from /OUTIORQ of the Beta-Disk controller must be connected to the GS as /IORQ, the signal
/OUTIORQ from the computer board (another resistor pin) must be connected to the
GS as /IOGE. Resistor resistance 300..600 ohm.

From Kirill Frolov To All 17 September 2002

Oberon is not an authority. They screw up there, and then here they tell tales
about non-functioning pentagons. Read ZF old issues, everything is written there about
GS.
