TEST 128k

From Vladimir Krasnoperov To All 6 April 1998

Hello, All! How many years, how many winters!

People who know how to read the readings of a sub-ROM.
I tried to solder at random (it still doesn’t help ;)).

With best wishes, Vladimir

Maybe it would help, but my SABZh refuses to work at all - I insert it In
the panel I turn on “... and in response there is silence...”, and the 48th test works.
If you can, please upload the SUBJECT firmware :)

$$$ With best wishes ... Alex

So you probably have a 48 computer?
And it wasn’t me who flashed it, but Alexey Khakhonov (Peter).

The question remains valid. ;))

Best wishes, Vladimir

Hello, Vladimir!

06 Apr 98 Vladimir Krasnoperov was pinching in the hope that Everyone would read about
TEST 128k, I read it and decided to answer:

From Andrey Isaev To All 9 April 1998

AG> In general, I insert it into the socket and turn on “... and in response
AG> silence...”, and the 48 test works.
Are you sure you have 128kb of memory? :))

From Tim Kelly To All 10 April 1998

AI>> And what exactly are the readings?
VK> Well, for example, expressions - “Bank”, “Sector”, “Discharge error...” and so on.

If my memory serves me correctly, then:
The memory in the 128th Spectrum is divided into banks of 64k - 8pcs RU5
Each chip is responsible for one bit (bit) of an eight-bit word (byte).

Based on the readings, you determine the desired bank, digit, and, accordingly, the
microcircuit.

Sorry, if something is wrong, I haven’t seen the 128th test, it’s just that the concepts are too
very familiar :)

Hasta la vista.
Tim Kelly

Hello, Andrey! How many years, how many winters!

On one sunny day - 09 April 98 at 02:08 Moscow time,
Andrey Isaev, trying to kill a cockroach on the keyboard, typed to Vladimir Krasnoperov:

From Andrey Isaev To All 12 April 1998

VK> for example, the expression is “Bank”, “Sector”, “Error
VK> digit...” and so on.
I don’t remember exactly about ‘Bank’ and ‘Sector’ now, but I’ll tell you about a digit error: in case of
a digit error, two binary numbers are always written, one (like the top one) this is the byte
that was written, and the second byte that was read. Your task is to compare these two numbers and write down the mismatched bits on a piece of paper. Next, if you get an error
during the RAM test, then you look for the device that receives a mismatched discharge from the processor
(2 legs at the controls) and replace it, and if you get a discharge error when testing the data buffer
then either the buffer itself has died, usually IR22 (in the Profi U19 circuit), or again
look at the snot (break) on the way from the 14th arm to the buffer, or the break between its
2nd leg and the center.
That’s it, if you don’t understand anything, write.

Everything seems clear. There will be problems, I’ll definitely “whistle” ;)
Thanks for the information.

Wow!

All the best.
With respect, Roman Milukov.

Subj unfortunately I can’t post - there is no programmer to remove the firmware
:( , but I’ll post the instructions as I fill them in (I have them on paper) if
anyone else asks.

Well, packed, Roman, packed!

I removed it at one time just in case (I’m thrifty :)) Somewhere
it’s lying around on disk space...
If necessary, I’ll look for it.

Please, sir ;)

Wait. If Andrey I. doesn’t give up, then you’ll start looking.

I have this version (I had this version before). Then I remembered that one
good friend of mine has a programmer (To VS: Where are you?). If everything works out -
soon I will also upload the firmware in addition to the dock.

The letter to Andrey Isaev has already left. If he doesn’t upload, or uploads the wrong version,
then go ahead...
