Hello, All!

Can you see me?
Speaking of birds, why has the BattleTech discussion died down?

Hello, Eduard!

February 28, 2000, you wrote here:

It can be seen.

EP> Speaking of birds, why has the BattleTech discussion died down?

Tell me at what stage the project is at. Or is it only at the stage of conversations?

All the best.
Roman.

And I’m already tired of asking about this! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What happened?
Have you seen the letters? So I can throw it one more time - it won’t hurt me...

So far at this stage (as far as I know). Damn, as fast as I’m going to say - well, there’s no script yet, why did you get to it? There are many other problems that are absolutely unrelated to him and require solutions! (by the way, Eduard! Try to write a script - you know the books very well, maybe it will work?) Next come letters
to which no one has ever responded:(((

In principle, I’m just starting to participate in the project (and FIDO at the university
was buggy, so I know almost nothing about the progress of BattleTech. However, just
recently our node appeared on the list again and now I can not only send
but also receive mail. So I’m ready exchange ideas with other screenwriters,
in turn, I will publish the first letter.
If anything, please don’t kick me with your feet ;)

Hello All!

I learned about what you started from Pavel and it revived hope in me.
So, I’ll start from the beginning, years ago. 3 years ago I read several books from the subj's series and without hesitation, my brother and I cobbled together a desktop version of the subj'a. It
included about 25 types of Combat Robots (BR), a dozen types of light equipment,
several types of infantry units, 5 or 7 types of Aerospace
Fighters (AKI), 5 types of shuttles, one of which could be carried by fighters,
one or two types of T-Ships and of course more than 30 types weapons.
The meaning of the game was this - the player is a young, newly minted BR pilot, one of
the five main Houses, having one light robot and a couple of units, travels
around the planet and suppresses the rebellion, taking control of cities and spaceports,
which bring him a weekly profit for which the player canrecruit new
units. Of course, cities, and even more so spaceports, are not unarmed; in them you can meet anything from infantry to ballistic missiles. In the event of a skirmish, enemy units are positioned on different sides of the skirmish map and engage in battle. True, I'm afraid that my organization of the battle is unlikely to be suitable for the project being created, they walked there in turns until all the robots had exhausted Act.Pts or both players refused to move or shoot, after
this the robots partially cooled down and restored Act.Pts. and reloaded non-energy weapons (such as cannons, missiles, gauss weapons). Then the movement was repeated. The winner could collect trophies from the battlefield and use them as
necessary.

*By the way, I want to note that in my opinion Pavel suggested using mounted weapons.*

_So, this cannot be done under any circumstances if you adhere to the series of_
_books. After all, this was one of the advantages of the clans: THEIR ROBOTS WERE UNIVERSAL AND WEAPONS WERE SELECTED ACCORDING TO NEED. And the troops of the Inner_
_Sphere were armed with strictly equipped robots and it was simply physically impossible to install_
_for example, a WOLFHODDER weapon on a SNIPER._

But excuse me, I digress. By owning a spaceport, the player was able to
receive trade shuttles, which could deliver small equipment, hired
BR drivers orAKI pilots, as well as the BR or AKI themselves, but in addition to the benefits
spaceports could bring trouble, often they (by random method) could
be attacked by bandits, pirates, troops of a hostile House or even
clan forces.
After establishing control over the planet, the player could receive an offer
from leader of his House, or could try to start creating his new House. If he managed to repel the attacks of his House, his world or worlds were recognized as independent and the player could try to expand his possessions.
The goal of the game was the creation of a new Star League under the leadership of one of the players. However, due to the rather tedious calculations of the movement of the forces of the Houses, as well as the fact that my brother and I tried to simulate the collisions of these same forces, our power did not extend beyond one star system.
And soon the game was abandoned.

Here is, in brief, the scenario of my version Subj.
A little later, if, of course, the group is interested in my version, I will delve into my
deposits of waste paper and present for discussion the Tactical and technical characteristics of ballistic missiles, AKIs, equipment, shuttles, as well as a list of growth in the skill of drivers.

From what I remember now:
Armor Temp. A.Pts.
Name. type weight Ru No Ko Jumping off. /load per step
HORSE medium-heavy 70t 20 25 35 150m 4 times 70030/20
weapons 2xL4 2xL3 RDD 4/16
L3-laser type 3 L4-laser type 4 RDD 4/16 -long-range missiles salvo of 4 16 pieces in total

By the way, all the jobs on my list are quite real (in the Subj world) and with them During the creation
we carefully studied the books from the Sabzheva series.
As for literature, I advise you to read, in addition to the books indicated by Max, also
_"Blood of Heroes"_ also by W. Keith. In it, the son of Grayson Carlyle the Deathbringer
follows his father's path, preventing the prevailing rebel forces of Free Skye
from using the planet his father received from the hands of Prince Victor Steiner-
Davion into possession as a base for the development of the rebellion. Moreover, Grayson himself at this time is invited to the prince for an award, and most of the Legion is outside the planet.
And in order to penetrate the spirit of the Battletech world, one cannot do without the books of Michael Stackpole, although I agree that his first books are “Natural
selection” and “The Price of Risk” are somewhat political, but "Born for War" is
an excellent work in which there is politics (both from the side
Inner Sphere and from the Clans) and enough gunfire and battles.
And finally, I recommend "The Main Event" by Jim Long, which shows
the same formation of an individual detachment "Black Thorns".
That's all for now. Until I subscribe toREAL.SPECCY will write to you.
BATTLETECH - Rulez!!! SPECCY - FOREVER!!!
