HELP ALL! We need to fix the Pentagon-128.
When you press RESET, “dancing with a tambourine” begins :-(
Sometimes the initial menu will pop up normally and then everything is almost
normal. And when you turn it on for the first time, everything is usually fine,
but after RESET, see above... Yes, when the “dancing” ends and something meaningful appears on
the screen when you press the “dancing” keys may
resume. If it fails in BASIC48, then you can normally
go into TR-DOS and run something.
Sometimes when you move the cursor up and down on the menu in the bottom
line, the bits on the screen change (the elements of the letters are distorted).
The test programs I have state that the memory
is fine (it was running for more than an hour).

I will not have to deal with the repair of Pentanons in due time. I had to for this reason, I ask for your help ALL. Of course I will have to study everything
again, but maybe someone can ease my knowledge with some practical advice or suggestions?

PS I have done Leningrad-1 more than once, the last time was quite recently :-)

Hello, Makhov!

Here once, on March 27, 2001, Alexander Makhov and All were whispering, but I still
heard! They said,

MA> HELP ALL! We need to fix the Pentagon-128.
MA> When you press RESET, “dancing with a tambourine” begins :-(

The electrolyte at RESET has not dried up?

MA> Sometimes the initial menu will pop up normally and then everything is almost
MA> normal. Moreover, when you turn it on for the first time, everything is usually fine,
MA> but after RESET, see above... Yes, when "dancing" will end and on the
MA> screen something meaningful can be
MA> resumed when you press the keys.
MA> Describe the dances in more detail. Are programs crashing or just glitches on the screen?
First of all, go through the board for nozzles/failures and reliability of
contacts in the sockets.

MA> If it falls out. BASIC48 then you can normally
MA> go into TR-DOS and run something.

And after startup? Is it normal in the 48th (with the port latched) or also? When
does it appear more?

MA> Sometimes when you move the cursor up and down the menu in the bottom
MA> line, the bits on the screen change (the elements of the letters are distorted).

Is the data bus pulled up by resistors?

MA> The test programs I have stated that the memory
MA> is fine (it was running for more than an hour).

Is the test software or ROM 128 or 48?

Good luck!
Vitalic.
