computer cost

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Vassili Klimov To All 23 July 2001

hello, All!

I would like to know what prices are now for computers, in particular for the yellow scorpion + power supply + case + disk drive + keyboard 58 buttons.
Otherwise one person needs it, but I don’t know how much to ask for;)

For the record: there are a huge number of boards from 48 Leningrads (I think there are several
hundreds:), boards for various devices like VIDEOPORT and some others, as well as lower
professional versions 4.x and upper versions 3.x. All boards are clean! Maybe someone needs it?

Ask for rubles 400-500. You will get a Luxury performance with everything mentioned above. Maybe
not even yellow, but green. I'll help you get this in St. Petersburg.

Which ones? I would take a couple of video ports.

What does clean mean? Without mikruh at all? Or never used or soldered by
craftsmen?

I saw the pictures obtained with the help of it and I am quite
satisfied with them. My problem is that I have a poorly developed
imagination, so I have to copy everything (it’s true
it doesn’t always work out well either), and with the help of the video port you can
receive pictures for further processing.

That’s it. Bye, Aleksey!

I have it, I’m just not aware of the prices;) although the idea is interesting...
I’m also interested in where in St. Petersburg I can get the Z84 percent...10PEC - z80
at 10 mhz (available in Kai)

It seems (I don’t know for sure) you can buy it at the Gamma company. $5 is very approximately.

Hi, Alex!

Sun 29 Jul 2001, at 09:44:49 Alex Mazepa told Slavka Kalinin about the cost of
the computer.

AM> And what is this VIDEOPORT??
This garbage is for capturing frames from the video output of a tape recorder or camera.
Described in detail in ZX-Forum #2 (circuit diagram, program texts). Judging by
the fact that it does not dissipate the image, but simply makes either a black pixel if
its brightness is less than the threshold value, or makes it white. Those. after
the image has been set, "file processing is required." And this piece of hardware will probably cost quite a tidy sum. It’s easier to film and
convert on an offtopic topic than to worry about connecting and setting up the board.

Bye, Alex.

In principle, everything is correct, except that firstly there aren’t a lot of details, and secondly
secondly, the circuit can be optimized (for example, replace 3x6264 with 62256).
I also think that it’s not difficult to make at least 4 shades of gray
(additionally several m/schemes). As for the offtopic topic, not everyone has access to it.

The question is whether the game is worth the candle. Those. Will a person receive benefits from this piece of iron commensurate with its cost? Personally, my echo tag has already morally paid for itself a hundred times over. And this is the main thing.

I beg to differ. Payback does not play a decisive role. Of course, I'm glad for you that, in addition to moral satisfaction, Speccy brings some kind of material
values, but have you thought about making money on it before buying?
As for the various modifications/gadgets/devices for Speccy in general, besides
convenience they are unlikely to provide any other benefit. Well, returning to the subject,
I think that it will cost no more than fifty dollars (if assembled independently), which
in modern times is a penny.

Inconsistency :) We didn't earn a buck on the spec :) All the swearing values, for example
for me, go directly into it for all sorts of modifications and repairs after modifications :)

Well, except for the cash prizes at CAFe'99. Personally, for me, that trip to
Kazan paid off and even brought me a profit of 90 rubles ;)

VK> values, but did you think about making money on it before buying?
Is there at least one word in my phrase about material benefit? I
never made any money on the Spectrum (CAFe'99 doesn't count, because we didn't
participate for the sake of money) and didn't intend to. _Moral_ satisfaction is the main thing for me.
It’s a pity you don’t read our local ZXNet echo ZX.BW.PROJECTS. So there, lately, this moral satisfaction has been pouring out of us like a river (Megus and
Tiger know what I mean) ;). Although at work I have access to offtopic topics and
the Internet, I experience incomparable joy from working on the Spectrum (for which I receive nothing but
great moral satisfaction).

VK> As for the various modifications/gadgets/devices for Speck in general, then
VK> besides convenience they are unlikely to provide any other benefit. Well, returning to
I don’t agree. Here is a list of bells and whistles on my computer:

-512*192. It has become not so much a convenience as a necessity.
-modem. And not so much for the sake of mail, but for the sake of file sharing. Instead of running across the whole city in order towrite off 10 kilobytes, it's easier
to throw it over the modem.
-1 megabyte of RAM (896k ramdisk). If 256
kilobytes are enough for Sergei Zotov, then I need _at least_ 512 kilobytes to work.
-CMOS Clock. Without him, the madrom is like having no hands. They tick and okay. More precisely, they no longer tick (cell 12 died for some reason).
-Hardware multicolor. This is a really useless thing.
-Turbo VG. A trifle, but nice.

VK> subject, I think that it will cost no more than fifty dollars (with independent
VK> assembly), which in these days is pennies.
Well, you know better, you understand more about hardware than I do.

From Roman Timofeev To All 7 August 2001

DN> Go ahead.

I quote:
=====================================================
Dear videoport card buyers. When checking a trial copy of the board,
the author discovered errors made during the preparation of both the circuit diagram and the printed circuit board. By this time - November 94, a commercial batch of boards had already been manufactured. Be sure to check your copy of the board before
installation.

List of errors in the circuit diagram:

1 Change the polarity of C15. The plus must be connected to the VT1 base.
2 Insert capacitor C15* into the secheme in circuit 59 going to the VT2 base. The plus of the capacitor must be connected to VT2.
3 Change the contact numbers of m/s D11: 11 to 13, and 13 to 11.
4 Change the contact numbers of m/s D13: 12 to 13, and 13 to 12.
5 Change the contact numbers of m/s D15: 8 to 10, and 10 to 8; 13 to 11, and 11 to 13.
6 Introduce an RC filter into the circuit for +12 V power supply. These are Radd and Cadd.
7 Insert capacitor C9 into the circuit - from point C8-R14 to circuit D.
8 Indicate the polarity of C11. The plus must be connected to D24:2.

Modifications of the printed circuit board:

1 Cut off circuit D10:10 from the +5 V circuit and connect it to circuit D8:3.
2 Connect circuit D19:9 to circuit D3:15.
3 Cut off: D15:10 from D15:11 and the tracks coming to D15:8 and D15:10; the track that came to D15:8 should be started at D15:10, and the track that came to D15:10 should be started
at D15:8. Cut D14:11 fromD15:13. Connect D15:8 to D15:13
4 Cut off the tracks leading to D11:11 and connect them together. Cut
D11:13 from the anode(+) VD3. Connect D11:11 to anode(+) VD3. Connect D11:4 and
D11:13. Cut off C14 from the “ground” and solder R22 into the gap.
5 Install R19 in accordance with the circuit diagram.
6 -------//-------- circuits C14-R22 -------------//--------------.
7 -------//-------- C15* --------------//---------------.
8 -------//-------- C9 --------------//---------------.
9 --------//-------- chains Cdop-Rdp ---------------//---------------.
=====================================================

I have everything. Bye, Dmitriy!
