AR>> There is still no way to make a "RUSSIAN home computer
AR>> successor to the ZX-a,BK,PK" ?
IM> Well, if Sprinter is not OH, then - I don’t know...
Sprinter is not being produced at the moment, Peters took a time out for the preparation of a package of documentation for production for transfer to Nedops. So far the negotiations are stuck at this stage.
IM> However, it is definitely not possible to make a BC out of it...
The issue is actually under discussion, the BC has the same eight-bit interface to
memory and a fairly simple video organization. The percentage is complex (16-bit), it is unlikely to fit into Altera, and the drive controller is 1801vp1-95 (1801vp1-128).
Although I could be wrong - I did not hold the controller in my hands.
Since the speed of the Sprinter is decent (21 MHz), you can, in principle, create a hardware-software
BC emulator, partially put it on the alter (broadcasting commands
and other things), partially play along with it (1801vm1 has eight 16-bit
registers).
But this is all theory, of course, and secondly, hardly anyone needs a BC, last
mentions there were about him at SS-99.
