Why argue about this at all? This should be intuitive anyway.
If someone wanted to do this (just for the fingers), they would have done it long ago
and would not have wasted time talking about it. I have examples - zip for
Spectrum has already been written twice, at different times and by different people. You may
consider that I'm lying, but both people were from St. Petersburg and the only
reason why their zips will not go further than their disks is that both sometimes
read this conference and use CBSpeccy. At my place.

Then I’ll decipher: there is no desire to read, no desire to understand, no
desire to learn, perhaps there is no time... Although, by the way, there is nothing special to learn there.

Honestly, I can hardly believe that someone WROTE a zip, trying to write it
is one thing (which I haven’t tried myself), but writing it is a completely different thing!
Moreover, the source of the zip still needs to be obtained, which has become possible only
recently.

You’re right in everything, but here you’ve gone wrong.... yessss...
The 286 has a clear memory limitation.
The troika already depends on the specific implementation of the motherboard.
For example, yours Dad, I assembled three from spare parts - so there is a maximum of 32
mega (8 slots x 4Mb (30 pin)).
This is according to the instructions from the motherboard (saved!!!).
And today 8 meg (8 x 1M) can easily be used.

Where has he bent? motherboards.
Like all other computers.
If you haven’t seen a memory expansion card for 286, then this doesn’t mean anything.

VS> For example, for my dad I assembled three from spare parts - so there
VS> maximum
VS> 32 mega (8 slots x 4Mb (30 pin)). This is according to the instructions from the motherboard
That's where the sense of these 32 meters tends to zero (we don't consider old servers) in contrast to 1m on Spectrums, although a bunch of stubborn comrades all the time say the opposite...

VS> (preserved!!!). And today it calmly plows 8 megs (8 x
VS> 1M).
Damn, what a feat... It’s time to erect a monument not made by hands :)
Even 6 years ago, a bunch of people had Win95 at 4 meters on a troika standing and working.
Another thing is how...

And with a troika there is also a feint with the ears - often large arrays of sims blocks
funny glitched. In the dosa where the majority of consumers of these machines sit, everything is great, but rare glitches happen with the installation of Windows. Of the main and
most global ones, winword likes to fly.

Well, working on the sx20 (which was given as an example) is not much faster than on
the real Spectrum. If you haven’t tried it yourself, it’s better notbegins.

ZY: Sorry, going a bit offtopic.

For a 286 computer, the "clear limit" is 16 MB. The 386th is somewhere
within these limits too. But as you know, in the MS-DOS environment, 640kb is not enough for anyone,
even if 256MB is really worth it.

What's the laugh? Hrumer simply optimized the algorithms for speed and that’s it. :)

AL> hrip ALWAYS gives a smaller file,

you will always answer for it. Loses on music and screenshots almost 100% of the time. you
check first. Last year I didn't sleep at night out of curiosity to check this. :)

AL> than zxzip - this is understandable - after all, zxzip was made in hell, and
AL> hrip already has a fairly good compression method!

it's just fast. :)

there was such a power decreaser (it seems so). written devils when. the pressure is terribly slow, but the result is the same as hrust's. :) the algorithms are the same.
the implementation is different.

AL> Let me give you the zxzip-hrip compression table and if hrip is
AL> better, then
AL> will you eat your panties? ;-)

come on. you will reap everything. demos - because they don't press, screens - because almost all
of them press equally, music because zxzip wins up to 30%, ROM because I don't know the result, etc.OK?

it’s complicated... it’s all without comments, I don’t understand most of the code myself,
