Modern ZX-Spectrum hardware

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Yuri Voynalovich To All 12 September 2000

Hi *Eugene*!

And it all started on 30-Aug-00 at 22:13:17, when Eugene Palenock
talked to All about Modern hardware ZX-Spectrum

EP> - cache-16 works instead of both BASICs? - and if you make

The standard cache is turned on simply at the lower 16K, when the program is
executed in the cache at addresses #3dxx, trdos will turn on (to turn off
you will need to execute a command from Ozu)

EP> PS. I don’t have a cache or turbo yet...
But in vain

what the hell is TRDOS, if the cache is turned on, then all the keys are cut off
i.e. by call #3dxx the vgshki ports simply become available
no trdos is turned on!
To disable the vgshk ports (for example on the Pentagon, when
these ports are enabled, you cannot read #FE) you need to execute
any command in RAM

This is how the TRDOS _signal_ is turned on (and in different circuits it is designated differently), it is clear that the ROM will not be replaced. Those. ports simply become available. You misunderstood.
In my understanding, TRDOS is turned on, this means the TRDOS signal is active (BETA, DOSEN,
etc.)

Here exactly.

How is 0xFE disabled??? But how does TR-DOS 5.12F work?

What hack? And for peaceful purposes, there is a lot of use - that’s an additional
as much as 16 kilobytes of memory instead of a completely unnecessary ROM! CP/M can be
started...

You need to write to 7ffd. By the way, on my Lenin, I first made sure that when trdos is active, _all_ ports on both rd and wr are cut off, but
then I had to do a conditional cutoff so that trdos5.12f,
memory commander, etc. would work.
