Sintez-M - there is a desire to put it into operation

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Alexander Razmayenko To All 6 July 2000

Hi All,

recently it turned out that I have this miracle of sinclair construction...
but the circuit I have for it is not from him, but from his older brother - Synthesis-2
maybe someone can throw in a circuit diagram or the differences between “M” and “2”

and advise how I can dock it to the 32VTC101 monitor?
there is no synchronization and I don’t know how to find it - it’s so deep in Sinclair
never delved into

and in general, what can be done with it?
I mean, what upgrades are available to it?

maybe someone knows/throws in some URLs - I want to find/solder/buy a controller circuit for an external AT-keyboard
I also need a Flop controller (essentially for Synthesis :) though I have a “male” interface connector
and also - maybe there is someone from Samara here

Thank you for your attention and goodbye,
with respect Alexander aka ramzes

Easy and simple. Synthesis has two video connectors. One for black and white
(video+audio output only), the second for color monitors/TVs (R, G, B,
Sync, Sound, 7 pins). I can give you the wiring for the cable under the VTC, according to
the proprietary (factory) operating instructions.
The Sync signal comes out of DD8.3, from the 8th leg (which is LP5, oh, and often it was on
for me :))
and then goes to the base of the VT5 transistor, and from there to the connector.

Hello Alexander !

Thursday July 06 2000 11:20, Alexander Razmayenko ─── All:

AR> recently it turned out that I have this miracle of sinclair construction...
AR> but the diagram I have for it is not from him, but from his older brother - Synthesis-2
AR> can anyone post a diagram or the differences between “M” and "2"
First of all, the FF port. Secondly... in my opinion that's it.

AR> there is no synchronization and I don't know how to find it - I've never dug so deep into the sinclairs
AR>
Uh... but, in my opinion, there is a SYNC signal on the connector. Isn't he
suitable?

AR> and in general, what can be done with him?
AR> What kind of upgrades are available to him?
Hardly... Especially upgrades. :)

AR> maybe someone knows/will post some URLs - I want to find/solder/buy a controller circuit
AR> for an external AT-keyboard
Is this for Synthesis? Forget it!

AR> you still need a Flop controller (essentially for Synthesis :) though I
AR> have a “male” interface connector
You see, even if you have it at least “like a sister”, it’s all the same, the disk drive controller
well, you won’t be able to dock it in any way.

AR> and also - maybe there’s someone from Samara here
Me! And us! There are plenty of us here! :)))

Good luck! Evgeny. (Aka 2:5057/18.73)

AR>> you’ve seen me, even if you have a “sister type” interface connector, it’s all the same
EM> the drive controller, well, you won’t be able to dock it there in any way
EM> I repeat once again: you can connect a flop to the synthesis (hint: you take any
controller and you solder the adapter :)
but seriously - here in Chisinau they produced consoles for Synthesis,
connects without any modifications, flop control, garbage processor, printer (L
Print III) and mouse (Lprint's truth) - all on one board, the ability
to connect two flops, and after a small rework (adding one microchip)
that's all four four flops :)

PS: circuits for all sorts of gadgets are needed (128-512k, modem, etc.)?

See you soon! Denis.

DT> the idea with the AT keyboard was abandoned (the control panel was made and worked, but
DT> no one wanted to write the firmware for it), the only thing that was

Eeeeeeeee, sorry, we're talking to you about the same Synthesis? At
I don’t remember anything like that...

DT> but seriously, here in Chisinau they produced consoles for Synthesis,

Yes, it’s time to give you the Nobel Prize for the fact that you made a Super-128 from a 48th computer!!! :)))

DT> PS: circuits for all sorts of gadgets are needed (128-512k, modem, etc.) ?
Needed. I already have an interest in sports....

From Denis Tsigancov To All 16 July 2000

DT>> synthesis...
EM> Wow! And all this is exactly Synthesis?! Can you find out how you made such a thing from
EM> this shabby 48th car (which, for example, I sold when
EM> just assembled my Scorp)?
I meant the computer 'Sintez-2' - the Chisinau version of the Moscow 'Sintez-M'...
and this is a miracle after some perversions quite turns into a pentagon (number
cycles, border, #ff port, 512k...)

EM> This is already interesting. It’s doubly interesting what modem software you
EM> use...
Lara Croft 4.30, Melon 1.80...

From Evgeny Milun To All 18 July 2000

DT> I meant the 'Sintez-2' computer - the Chisinau version of the Moscow
DT> 'Sintez-M'...
Yes, I understand. But, IMHO, you still got it a little confused. Sintez-M -
Kishinevsky. And I saw Synthesis-2.
Synthesis-M - a large white one with two “Reset” calvishes and an “emulator”
of a Sinclair joystick. The keys are regular contact ones. Two brochures: a programmer's guide and an operating manual. A large "transport" insert with a
brief connection diagram for a computer-TV-tape recorder.
Synthesis-2 - a little smaller, black case. Again, as far as I remember, he has Kishinev citizenship. It comes with some kind of interface board for the TV. Like "Synthesis" it comes with exactly the same cassette with games and
system programs.
We, I hope, are talking about them?

DT> and this miracle, after some perversions, completely turns
DT> into a pentagon (number of cycles, border, port #ff, 512k...)
Again, IMHO, you are confusing something. The FF port _ALREADY_ should have been there. At least on it, from the very beginning, things were running that were not running on Synthesis due to the
lack of this port...

From Denis Tsigancov To All 22 July 2000

DT>> Moscow 'Sintez-M'...
EM> Yes, I understand. But, IMHO, you still got it a little mixed up.
EM> Sintez-M is from Chisinau. And I saw Synthesis-2.
EM> Synthesis-M is a large white one with two “Reset” calvishes and
EM> an “emulator” for a Sinclair joystick. The keys are ordinary contact keys.
hmm... if it's big and white (or light gray), then it's 'Sintez-1' or just
'Sintez' :)
and Sintez-M, IMHO, began to be produced in Moscow, and then 'Signal' took over
the initiative... this was somewhere in 89...
and in 91, on the basis of Sintez-M, it was developed Synthesis-2
(I don’t remember all the details right now, but if you’re really interested, I can ask
one of the developers :)

EM> Two brochures: a programmer’s guide and an
EM> operation manual. A large “transparent” insert with a brief diagram
EM> of the computer-TV-tape recorder connection.
and plus a large banner aka “basic diagram” :)

EM> Synthesis-2 - a little smaller, black case.
So Synthesis-M was in exactly the same case, only in the far right corner under
the inscription 'SINTEZ' there was a letter 'M' cut out in the oval :)

EM> Again, as far as
EM> I remember, he has Chisinau citizenship. It comes with some kind of
EM> board for interface with the TV.
what kind of board?
ibid.Always next to the power connector there was a seven-pin connector for
a TV/monitor, the only exception was Synthesis-31, which had an antenna
output (to make it easier to connect :)

EM> Like "Synthesis" it comes with
EM> exactly the same cassette with games and system programs.
this is the one on one side prog 'Look' and on the other 'Academy',
'Equinox', 'Manic Miner', 'Tujad' and 'Treasure island'?
we still sell these cassettes on the radioteach for lei :)

EM> We, I hope, are talking about them?
in my opinion, yes :)

Once Sun 16 Jul 2000 at 07:17:55 there was a conflict
Denis Tsigancov and Evgeny Milun were arguing about Synthesis-M - there is a desire
to put it into operation
I decided to turn up the heat on this dialogue
