From Andrey Tyagunov To All 9 April 1999

Hello All!

I want to add a SIMM to the ZX "Gamma" Voronezh.
I understand the circuits. What is needed is a principle and a specific circuit solution.
Post the circuit plz.

Happy!
Andrey

From this information the principle should be clear.

Greetings, All!

Many people are interested in connecting a Sim to the spectrum. I am throwing in a diagram and some
explanations for it.

Approximate location of the pins on RU7 (need to be clarified according to the computer diagram)
┌───────┐
MA0 ─┤ ├─ VCC
MA1 ─┤ ├─ MA5
MA2 ─┤ ├─ MA6
MA3 ─┤ RU7 ├─ MA7
MA4 ─┤ ├─ RAS
DO ─┤ ├─ WE
CAS ─┤ ├─ DI
GND ─┤16┌─┐ 1├─ MA8
└──┴─┴──┘
MAi address and control buses RAS, CAS, WE are combined, and DI and DO data constitute
two eight-bit buses. The MAi signals can be swapped with each other.

SIMM is a set of similar chips in which
DI and DO signals are connected together. The MAi address and RAS, CAS, WE control buses are connected to signals of the same name on the SIMM. The Di SIMM signals must be divided into DIi and
DOi.

To do this, you need to assemble the following circuit.

╔═════════════════════════╗
1533AP6 ║ SIMM256K ║
┌──────────────── ├──Ґ──┤D0 MA0├── MA0 ╟─── DO0

WE ────┴────────────────────────┤WE CAS├─────────────────── CAS
└──────┘

CAS 6-6 days before the start of the day, the number of days between DA and DB.
Для 1Mb is available from the original MA9, and 4Mb is included. МА10.

In regeneration cycles, the state of the address and data buses does not matter. Row address counters for regeneration are included in the microcircuits installed in
sims. For normal regeneration it is required that the average frequency of regeneration cycles be about 500KHz or more.

Yes, before I forget.

This diagram didn't work for me. At least dance with a tambourine -
as soon as I connect the WR signal to AP5, then immediately GLITCHES. AP5 is fine,
I changed it several times. Exactly the same scheme works on the green scorpion
. I don’t understand what’s going on at all, imho the /WE
signal is not quite what it should be. My Scorpio is YELLOW and
modified to Pentagon, but I didn’t touch the memory work,
I ONLY changed the CLK of the processor. WE is formed on the trigger,
as in the original circuit. Riddle...

It might not work due to the fact that Sims are faster, sensitive to
all kinds of interference, to the length of wires, etc.

Only I didn’t even connect the sims, ONLY ONE AP5! :-/

RM> Look at ZX_Server, 2:465/98.17. In the Subj field: %LIST for starters.

So somewhere a request trap has been set, but no response.

Happy!

Indeed, it seems that someone is catching the requests themselves...
The fact is that the server is temporarily down, which is reported by a netmail
letter for any request. If these letters do not go through, it means that someone is catching
letters using the word SERVER in the from: or to field:

Hello, %SUBTOKENS[%OLDFROMNAME%,1]%!

Unfortunately, the request for ZX-Server "%OLDSUBJECT%"
will not be processed. This is due to temporary technical
difficulties. The end of this period will be announced
in the echo conferences "ZX.SPECTRUM" and "REAL.SPECCY".
Please do not send requests until notification of
the server is operational.

I installed not AP5, but IR22, although there is no difference. But when I attached the 1M SIMM (before this we had RU7G), glitches began. Almost all of my computer is 555. So, the glitches
disappeared completely when I changed D49, D50 and D45 to 1533! (according to the Pentagon scheme)
I won’t say which one influenced me, I changed all three at once.

What functions do these MSs perform in the Pentagon? Also interested
in the full name of these MSs, and not just the positional designations.

RM> Pentagon diagram)

The last time I saw her was in '91. :)

RM> I won’t say which one affected me, I changed all three at once.

2All: Who installed SIMM (1M) in Scorpio (SC-14 board, “yellow”),
what were the problems? Was the above described observed?

RM> Sincerely Roman.

Sincerely, Felix.
