ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Kirill Petrenko To All 3 November 1999

Hello, All!
Continuing to tinker with my Speccy, I added CMOS-Gluk
and accordingly became interested in the add-on. firmware
such as gluk52i and MadRom.
From the brief descriptions of them it is clear that they should be
sewn into the remaining empty space 27512 (4th bit).
However, it is not clear how they are connected - what port/bit?
Otherwise instead of 128 bass it somehow turns out incorrectly.
Please explain who knows.

After the reset, control should go not to 128 BASIC, but to this firmware.

KP> Well, this is understandable, but how can you get back?

Back only through RAM. When the percentage in RAM goes back to ROM
128 BASIC turns on - this is how TR-DOS is designed.

KP> Let's say that during a reset, a certain trigger will connect the 4th segment instead of the 128 ROM.
KP> The firmware starts and displays the menu item
KP> "output in 128 BASIC". I click - and what next is unclear!

the subroutine servicing this menu item throws a certain treasured byte into a certain port
. On this treasured port there is another trigger, which is responsible for switching ROM slices. in accordance with the treasured byte, he
will connect the Basik-128 slice, and at the same time register the CPU.
this is all fundamental, and when applied to the madrom - h.z.

A button is made so that when you press it, a “RESET” will occur and
at the same time DOS was turned on ("1" on the first leg of the ROM).
Well, like in the 48th, DOS starts after a reset, but with port #7FFD reset.

Good luck.
Best regards Roman.

Will writing the value to the port not work? ;)

Everything is simpler - no “cherished ports” are needed. ;)
We use the good old 7ffd

Only the transition is completely to the left address. :-(
