Get Msg, All!
I looked at the subject (like everyone else :). Good game? Yes, without a doubt.. Would
pay $1 for it? No.. Why? Because, if the author will excuse me, this is
another clone of bolderdash and digger..
In general, authors often complain that their product is not in demand..
But how can it be otherwise if everyone publishes the same thing: logic games,
magazines and newspapers (thank God, our newspapers are still free :). To some extent,
this applies to assemblers and music editors - there are also more than
enough of them..
Is it possible to correct the current situation? Maybe yes, if you release something that “has no analogues” on the Spectrum or has one, but in small quantities. What
it could be:
From the systems:
- graphic editor - better than ArtStudio and Artist 2 combined. With
the ability to _draw_ pattern pictures (preferably in color), without resorting to
the help of a PC and a scanner.
- a programming language compiler (not an assembler). And not just “to
be”.. Two conditions - speed of compilation and code that is almost not inferior to assembly
From games:
- 3D shooter. Perhaps, not follow the path of Stalker and Digital Reality, but
use vector graphics or 4x4 chunks or something elsecome up with
(but not 8x8).. The main conditions are higher speed, wider window..
- real-time strategy. There's simply no end to it :)
- turn-based strategies (just don't force Laser
Squadron for the hundredth time). Requirements - turn-based strategies must be _very_ beautiful with
a lot of varied graphics (if you can't succeed in real time,
succeed in something else)
- quests. Preferably, with advanced engines, almost cartoons... (not to make
another Dizzy clone).
That's how I understand it all.. Naturally, it is assumed that the design
of these works will be at the level of the best PC ones (as far as possible :)) And the volume will be
appropriate (but not at the expense of RGB pictures :).
A lot of work? Yes! Is it difficult to do? Without a doubt!! However, you won’t have to be surprised later: “Well, I made Super Tetris 2000, but the Spectrum stranglers didn’t
accept it.”
With warm greetings, Slava!
ps\ listed is what will be in demand.. However, there are no guarantees that you can get money for
it :( However, for a product _not_in_
demand, you will _definitely_ get money it is impossible..
