ROM BASIC-128
ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Maxim Timonin → To All 13 January 2003
I would like to ask about this:
In the BAS-128 ROM, as you know, after a restart, a menu with the inscriptions is displayed
TAPE LOADER
128 BASIC
CALCULATOR
48 BASIC
TR-DOS (a more “ancient” version - TAPE TESTER)
I would like Ask where the entries to the subroutines corresponding to these options are located. That is, where the computer jumps after it
analyzes the fact that the ENTER key is pressed and compares this with the position
of the blue cursor in the menu. Well, what is the length of these subroutines (at least
TAPE LOADER and TAPE TESTER). Otherwise I want to dig deeper into the firmware, so
I need free space...

P.S. And if anyone has any dissam of the subject in addition to the above-mentioned
info, then in general everything rules and the sky is in diamonds.

Huh... If you're going to dig around there and can't find the entry point, then
what can you do there?

STS6.2.

It’s strange to hear this question from you, because you seem to be the developer of
TR-DOS firmware for transparent work with the screw. I don’t advise you to
try to bite off anything from the 128th BASIC, many of them have
various scraps flashed instead.
Bye!

I only need to free up about a hundred bytes there to organize support for a
resident intercepting the RESET button, compatible with the
ATM1,2,2+ resident. Then Khonyuk will be able to use this feature on all clones that
have enough memory. Yes, and for the VG93 emulator (which itself is located in the free space of the TR-DOS ROM and only there) it will be useful for the system of plug-ins (with the help of which it will be possible to change images “on the fly”, that is, during
execution of TRD programs). Those who have other utilities installed are not afraid if, again, they have an extra hundred bytes there. Because
resident support can be located anywhere in the ROM, and the entrance to it
will always be at address #0000, that is, it will be intercepted by RESET. We adapt each
firmware individually “without noise and dust”.
