From Andrey Isaev To All 11 April 1999

----────═══════════════╡ Hello, Roman !╞═══════════════─────---

Somehow 09 Apr 99 at 08:48:30 there was a conflict
Roman Milukov and Roman Petrov were arguing on the topic
I decided to continue this debate:

RP>> Hmmm... Interesting idea. You can do this in NeOS: depending on the
RP>> byte
RP>> either exit to NeOS or immediately launch TR-DOS. Only if you
RP>> run
RP>> TR-DOS, then you won’t be able to go to NeOS :-)
RM> No, that’s not necessary. In NeOS you need to do this: document 2

RM> (preferably
RM> #00C9) - entering NeOS _without!_ memory clearing; 3 - #???? - entering NeOS
RM> is normal,
RM> with checking RAM.
But IMHO it needs to be a little different: 1 - #0000 without clearing memory because the most
often used entry point and when 512kb of memory is cleared you can sleep, 2 -
#???? input with clearing memory, 3 - it’s not necessary at all if you want to check the memory then
run a special firmware or test.

I greet you from the bottom of my heart, All!

I remind you: be mutually polite!

Otherwise, draconian measures will follow.

The topic SPECTRUM vs PC is _forbidden_!

OK. I agree.
But it is necessary that NeOS, when starting from #0000, look in CMOS and act
accordingly, as written there.

All the best.
Best regards, Roman.

In general, I don’t know about CMOS yet, but now in NeOS there are 3 reset options:
1. Complete memory clearing (by analogy with Scorps - reset + left arrow).
2. The memory is not cleared at all (reset+Break).
3. Only the 128th memory is cleared (just a reset, i.e. the main mode).
Let's now deal with CMOS and entry points (they don't exist yet, everything is done inside
one function). Make an offer, and I'll do it.

Bye, Roman! Megus/Brainwave^X-Project. [ZX] [NeOS]
