Added YM-Turbo new unreal soundchip, now it is possibleset
volume and stereo parameters at your discretion (I took the liberty and
attached the 'forbidden' Hacker KAY table with the correct volume settings ;),
flash-color is returned, video output and Z80 emulation are accelerated. In addition, the
kit
includes a new version of Unreal-lite (a lightweight version of the emulator for slow computers)

@ Literally today SMT released a new version of UnrealSpeccy v0.21beta4 !!! Today this is the best ZX Spectrum emulator! The video subsystem has been significantly rewritten (you'll have to get used to it a little, because the video settings, if I'm not lying, are the most flexible and powerful of all the win zx emulators I know), support for PROFI.ROM and the extended Profi screen has been added! Download the updated version of ROMS (+
profi) HERE. Pentagon Service Rom has appeared, the author of which is also SMT
(documentation attached). Those who like to test CP/M Profi can download
CPM.UDI (Thx 2 Alex Makeev 4 cp/m file!). A new tab has appeared in the settings

@ I accomplished a heroic feat - I downloaded as many as 4 mega RealSpectrum emulators of the new
version! ;) The Ramsoft group, these perverts, have already released 6 new versions of the RealSpectrum Beta 13 v0.96.16 emulator... 3 versions each for DOS and Win... Here it is - RealSpectrum DOS K6,K7; RealSpectrum DOS P1-MMX; RealSpectrum DOS P2,P3,P4;

The version for Win is being released for the first time, but according to the authors, this is a simple
compilation of the Dos version for Win. The real Win version will be released a little later. Under XP
this version slows down (sound) and does not switch to full screen (at least for me). Even in the Win version, low-level incompatible
procedures have been thrown out - working with real disks, tapes, etc. I haven't noticed any interesting
updates...

James McKay pleased the emulator community with the release of his Speccy
emulator under DOS - X128 v0.94! As they say, not even three years have passed, but the release is ready ;)
There are a lot of updates, but the most important thing (for me) is that support for my
SCL format has been added :), and the emulsion has also begun to understand FDI, FDD and HoBeta. There is
support
for long names under Win95/98. The unpleasant thing is that the emulator does not work under WinXP
(moreover, for the first time in six months I managed to fatally crash XP with this emulsion - wow!!!). From old memories, I note that the emulator is quite fast, because
I once worked at 100% speed on a 486DX4-100. To start, you no longer need DOS4GW, as before. We need ROMZ.

DOS - RealSpectrum beta 12 v0.94.22. As always (and it is not clear why)

Slightly fixed disks - iS-DOS RAM1 (previously I didn’t want to automatically boot into
RAM drive C:) and iS-DOS RAM2 (music was not launched by the resident before).

Advanced ;) version of the base iS-DOS Classic disk - iS-DOS Base1. Added
network software (see directory\UPGRADE\FIDOSOFT) under Hayes Modem. This is a terminal,
unzip,
UUE and other utilities. The second type of base is iS-DOS Base2. The difference from the first one is that toys in TRF format have been added to the GAMES directory. Their peculiarity is the ability to exit back to iS-DOS without rebooting. I note that some of these

@ SMT continues to shock the public. Released the so-called light edition
UnrealSpeccy emulator! This is, so to speak, a return to the roots, to oldskool standards. Firstly, all hotkeys have been removed, including
exitemulsion (!!!). At one time, having bought myself a PC back in 1995, I, too
at first, could not understand the ideology of leaving the program. Fuck it... this is necessary when
there is a Reset button! Secondly, loading only from the command line, because the graphical win interface has been discarded as unnecessary. The monitor, video filters and
almost all the other bells and whistles have been thrown away! But new video modes have appeared - 50 Hz (31 and 40
KHz), 100 Hz and 150 Hz. The handling of the keyboard has been rewritten (as a result, in
win98se, when I press any key, the emulsion starts to slow down terribly). The most important thing is that, with the sound turned off, the emulator will show you the required 50FPS even
on the iP100. True, it’s confusing why the emulator still comes from a win2000 and a hard drive? Isn't it time to return to the good old media drive, or better yet to load from a tape recorder - this will be the real oldskull! ;)

@ Cyberpunks have released the most long-awaited project - the best Speccy magazine
Adventurer 13! A significant part is taken up by interviews and reports from last year's CC demo party. I would say that all the reports that came before were bullshit. The information
in the magazine is the most truthful and conveys the atmosphere of this festival ;) I was pleased
and
with the application! For example, one of the latest, if not the very last, work of Codemasters on the ZX saw the light of day - the toy Dj Puff (about a notorious little dragon).
I was surprised that the backgrounds were clearly taken from Commodore64 ('stretched' graphics).
Then Citadel demo. This is wolfenstein 3d on Speccy, and opponents have already appeared. A nice-looking 'opener' game, font editor, MMCM
music player and much more. Absolutely killer intro and a large amount of
interesting information. I recommend looking at the catalog of the second disc on LIST!
By the way, cyberpunks are going to come to us at Millennium, so you still
have a chance to buy branded discs with this issue of the magazine, and, most importantly, drink vodka with them and with us. Hurry up, because time does not wait!

@ Sergey Bulba released AY Emulator v2.6fix2. This is a player for winning almost all known AY music formats, and even a beeper to boot. The Sbor
section contains a wonderful selection of melodies for this emulsion. What's interesting is that earlier beta versions were released, but now the author has switched to the more popular concept of fixes ;) What's new is Help has been improved and, most importantly, the ability to
play sound at 48 kHz has been added.

ZXMAK v0.280b2 - improvements to the built-in Z80 debugger, bugs in the SCL

to give part of the time to win and, most importantly, significantly improved AY
sound. As if - because on some computers (including mine) AY sounds very wrong from the very first version to the last. Correct the situation, Alex!

@ Two Russian big toys, one TRD each. Gold Fever (Gold Rush) -
a game from 96, do some manipulations with cards;) Up to 4 people can play with each other at the same time. And a newer game - Empire 2000 from the notorious Action from Khabarovsk. Their three other products (Cezar, Super
Bomberman 2 and the Eighth Division) have been with me for a long time and also shock me with their
Russian language. A quick look at Empire 2000 reminded me of SimCity (thx 2

UnrealSpeccy v0.20fix1 from SMT has been released!!! UnrealSpeccy (for those who still don't know) is the best win emulator for Spectrum at the moment and is optimized
for use in Win2000 (it also works great under win9x, but a little
slower). By the way, the source code is included with the emulator. The author modestly calls this version fix1, although, apparently, it would not be shameful to give the number 0.30! There are
many improvements. The AY sound has been improved (better than the original, maybe ;), the

VG93 has been completely rewritten (full timing and emulation of all commands) and support for the trendy
UDI disk format has been introduced (!), new video modes have been added (in general, it has become much

personally the sound is still rather bad.
Whoever has crappy sound in this AY emulsion - please go to this forum and indicate
the computer configuration (processor type and frequency, motherboard and chipset, sound card,
Win and DirectX version). For example, I have Duron850, Abit KT7A (KT133A), ESS688
iSA, Win98SE, DirectX 8.1. Your information should help fix this
annoying
bug.

Sprintera, simply called Sprint ;) Emulation of the Spectrum mode, as I
understood, is not expected. OS Estex is emulated, however. As the author warns,
Sprint currently provides only a snapshot of the working directory, but notrelease.

The UDI format has been slightly changed (the documentation for it is attached), emulation has been added
Pentagon 512 and 1024, Scorpion 1024, extended memory ATM 512. A more intelligent system for selecting the type of computer and its memory, as well as ROMS, has been introduced. Fixed
bugs in FDI, TD0 and SCL formats. And a bunch of other bugfix improvements.
@ Alex Makeev also created an interesting and very useful utility that replaces
many other converters of different types of disk files. This is TRX2X converter
V1.0 beta 2 which supports the following formats UDI, TRD, SCL, FDI, TD0,
hobeta and allowsdistill from any named to almost any again
named!!! Although, of course, some conversion combinations cannot be used by definition ;)
@ Thanks to the support of Maxagor and the ZXMAK emulator, I’m trying to master ;) (at least
slightly) the disk system for Speccy from St. Petersburg IskraSoft - IS-DOS. For your consideration
we present for starters five disks in FDI format from the Maxagor collection.
The first disk IS-DOS base is the basis of the IS-DOS system, which can be called 'Old
Classic' (Old - because there is also IS-DOS 2000 with an improved catalog system
Classic - because there are (4 errors in a 3-letter word ;) there are IS-DOS Chic for
working with shadow RAM). In general, this disk contains a whole complete system of
necessary drivers and utilities!
The second disk IS-DOS RAM1 is an application for RAM disk 'C' of at least 512 (-128) kb.
Before starting, you need to install the required RAM disk, and then insert this
application instead of the system disk. This disk contains extensive help on
IS-DOS and its main utilities. (To be honest, I was not able to run this
disk and the next one with my initial knowledge of IS-DOS)
The third disk IS-DOS RAM2 is also an application to the RAM disk, but now in two
parts. The first is a copy of the system for RAM disk 'C' 512(-128)kb. And the second is an addition to the system in 'C', but for a RAM disk'D' with 128(-48)kb. This is a set of
resident music modules. In short, looking at night without 100 grams, you won’t be able to figure it out! ;)
The fourth and fifth discs are graphic editors. The well-known Art Studio,
adapted for IS-DOS. And also the original IS-DOS graphic editor
Picasso!
Disks number 1, 4, 5 are autorun: press RUN or LIST in
TR-DOS.

published a UDI format that supports all types of disk protection on Speccy
(all that remains is to make a reader-converter for such disks to UDI;). A bug with sound under winnt has been fixed, support for TD0 has been temporarily removed. The author asks experts
to help with a description of the CPIR command, which in other emulators may be emulated incorrectly (see the doc).

emulator is starting to update quickly, and this is good news. Added a chance to
start in 50 Hz video mode, but this, as I understand it, only works in
win2000/XP. Now you can run the emulator at real ZX speed, regardless of the current refresh rate, a new and absolutely perfect VG-93 engine (the recording function is already supported), CMOS emulation, as well as many other bugfixes and improvements!
@ Specter/OB has released Quick Commander v2.63. One of the best and perhaps the fastest ZX commander. New - support for TR-DOS disks of non-standard sizes,
the ability to highlight up to 16 types of files in different colors, viewing the entire
directory at once (at least all 128 files), heavily reworked and added Help, etc.
@ I discovered a previously unknown ZX magazine Inferno 2. Thx 2 SirX.
@ Thanks to the author of the Gleck emulator, there isopportunity to listen to the TZX format directly
in Winamp! Now you just need to make an adapter from the sound card to the input
tape recorder of your Spectrum to download the original tape versions ;)

@ I still managed to run UnrealSpeccy in 50 Hz video mode. This happened
with the help of Kuba Adamowicz, who reminded me of the existence of the utility
Powerstrip v3.12, which allows you to manage many parameters of video cards.
Now - a brief instruction on how to synchronize UnrealSpeccy. Install
and
run Powerstrip v3.12. If you do not need the utility to constantly load
when Windows starts, then remove the Auto-load with Windows checkbox (Options ->
Preferences). Next (Display profiles -> Configure) set Color depth to 256
colors, and Resolution to 640x480 pixels. Click Advanced Timing Options.
The resolution switches to the one just selected. Now we will lower the
Vertical geometry Refresh rate, attention! there is no need to enter a new frequency manually.
We lower the vertical scan frequency by clicking on the double arrow
(lower right square in the Position and size section). Now we bring the Refresh
Rate to the number closest to 50 ;) I got 49.999 Hz! Next Apply
- Ok. That's it - you can startlatest version of the emulator. And have fun! I think that someone's eyes might hurt from such extreme sports. Tested on Geforce2, but
I think it should work on other cards/monitors too.

@ Alex Makeev after 3.5 months of thinking about the CRC of the floppy sector released
a new release of his ZX emulator ZXMAK v0.230b1. The emulator is for Win and has
perfect emulation of the TR-DOS interface, because One of the most insidious demos (for emuls) Unreal demo works fully. There is also complete and correct
multicolor and border emulation. There is Kempston joystick and mouse. Almost all disk formats are supported - scl, trd, fdi, td0, hobeta. The sound remains jittery, but the author promises to release new versions almost every week, so the situation should improve soon. In case of problems with launching
programs, it is recommended to disable the Scorpion and Profi ports to improve
compatibility.

FDI to TD0. This utility is intended primarily for those who previously had no idea how to transfer FDI to a real disk. The resulting TD0 is dumped onto a floppy disk by Teledisk (if anyone doesn’t know, Teledisk is in the PC utilz section).
