├┤it was a hot summer day in the yard (Wed 7 Jul 1999, 02:51:00), but Vladimir
Galtscev tried to talk with Vladimir Burenin about the New text editor for
Spectrumists

VG> is that so?

Yep! :)) And a doubly linked list is an outrageously simple thing :) - in addition to the
line itself, each line stores pointers to the previous and next lines. As a result, inserted rows are physically stored at the end, deleted rows are marked as such, etc. When the memory gets clogged, the text is auto-compressed
(the only brake), but as long as there is no auto-compression - everything flies! :))

Can you suggest a more different method? I remember you described in 3x Spectrum, IMHO for
such large texts (300-400k at 512, and higher at larger ones) your method will
specifically slow down when editing lines in different pieces of text ;)

With best regards, Yuri Voynalovich.

Cut the memory into pieces, with each piece a separate market. this has already been discussed.

All the best.
Dmitry.
