NAM v0.3

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Sergey Zotov To All 22 January 2002

Hi! All!

Here I decided to make a subject. :) I already know some of its insides. ;)
What I want to add:

1. dial by time in the system line. For example:
system 500:8462/1, password 123456, _time_23:00-08:00_, phone 588608
if the current time (the CMOS driver from Lara Croft 4.5 will be used)
falls within the interval, then we call, otherwise we skip. There is no driver - parameter
ignored.

2. setting freqs directly from the subject. By some button.

What else do people need that is real and most necessary? Or is it only necessary for
me, a person who has unlimited access to the PC?

Uh-huh, it’s necessary!

By the way, how to fract not at a node, but at a point, i.e. where should I enter his number?

That’s all for me. Bye, Aleksey!

Timex.

Hi, Sergey!

Tue 22 Jan 2002, at 20:12:50 Sergey Zotov told All about NAM v0.3

SZ> here I decided to make a subject. :) I already know some of its insides. ;)
SZ> What I want to add:

SZ> 1. time dialing in the system line. For example:
SZ> system 500:8462/1, password 123456, _time_23:00-08:00_, phone 588608
SZ> if the current time (the CMOS driver from Lara Croft 4.5 will be used)
SZ> falls within the interval, then we call, otherwise we skip. There is no driver - parameter
SZ> is ignored.

It is necessary to do!!!

SZ> 2. specifying freqs directly from the subject. By some button.

I don’t know how convenient it is. There is a slight inconvenience when working with freques. When the req file is downloaded, it is erased from the disk. If the connection is broken, then you have to copy it from another disk, or recreate it again.

SZ> What else do people need that is real and most necessary? Or is this only necessary
SZ> for me, a person who has unlimited access to the PC?

Monitoring free space would also not hurt.

If you press the space bar when the init modem message appears, then NAM is reset.
Although, maybe this is a glitch of my modem?

If the downloaded file is, say, 66000 bytes long, then after downloading
the first block of the file, 255 sectors long, Nam begins to stall, unsuccessfully
trying to download the remaining 760 bytes. I have to get outNam, correct
the file length, say, to 250 sectors (and 250*256 bytes) and call the
boss again. If during the time of climbing on the disk-doctor another mail managed to be attached to me, then this file by the time of my next call will have a length of, say, 70,000 bytes and having downloaded the rest of the file, I will not be able to unpack it later,
because. in fact, it will already be another file with the same name. The same glitch with resuming will occur if the file has a length of 510*256 + x bytes (x is a small number of the order
1-300 bytes). It’s especially annoying when a netmail PKT (not packaged) crashes, whose name changes with each subsequent call. That is,
if I download the file 3c9824f3.pkt and the connection is lost, after my next
call it will have a different name and resuming the download will not work. And if this
file has a length of, for example, 66000 bytes, then we will experience a glitch in the process of
downloading the remaining tail of the file.

We would also like to be able to upload to some address not only
pkt-sheks, but also other files, i.e. attach them. The list of these files can,
for example, be specified in a file with some reserved name and
extension, for example XXXYYYY.O, where XXXX is the hex address of the zone (5052 = 13bc), YYYY
is the hex number of the node (30 = 001e). Those. I send my boss the file 13bc001e.O, in
which I list the list of downloaded files.

It would be great if it were possible to upload files longer than 255 sectors, i.e. so that the subject itself determines the length of the file.

For example: I want to upload to point 2:5052/4.255 the file me.jpg, consisting of the files
me.jpg and me.0pg, and to point 2:5052/30.255 the file blabla.ZIP and hhh.W
I create a file in a text editor: 13bc001e.O, which contains
the following:

>to 2:5052/4.255
me.jpg + me.0pg

>to 2:5052/30.255
blabla.ZIP
hhh.W

It would be nice if NAM after displaying the inscription: found nn files for this node,
displayed their names and size:

preparing for node 2:5052/4
found 4 file for this node:

L0302393.PKT 24522
me.jpg 123456
blabla.ZIP 4325
hhh.W 7343

In general, is it clear?

If at all maniac, you can pack echomail with pkzip in store mode.
;)

Bye, Sergey.

Exactly. And then it writes to me - I lost the carrier and is looking for it again. :)

AM> If you press the space bar when the init modem message appears, then

I have this too. If I can, I'll fix it.

[Killed.]
I didn't notice any glitches with lengths. And I have no idea where to look for them. By the way, in 0.23
the RENAME FILES parameter appeared. Try to use it.
With netsoap - you know. Afain the name is changed by the soaper with your boss - I can't help you with anything. :(

AM> I would also like to be able to upload to some

attach will also be placed on the button, because I don’t see the point of sculpting it separately in a
text editor.

Have not noticed this... :)

AM> you can pack echomail with pkzip in store mode. ;)

How do I know the format? The source codes are to be dug somewhere (for example under Linux) for scrap, and
and it has nothing to do with the subject.

how to do it in real life with freq, please explain;)

SZ> What other real and most necessary things do people need? Or is it just necessary
working with the modem using interrupts (either int or nmi)

JTN/4D

From Sergey Zotov To All 24 January 2002

VK> how to do it in real life with fracking, please explain;)

easy. If you use NAM (Melon did not fret), then you create a file, for example in
ZX Word, with the name: xxxxyyyy.R. Where xxxx is the hex address of your city, yyyy is the node number. For example, to frack something to you from your node: 13be0025.R
In the file you indicate the names of the files or their aliases (set by your boss). Try
write:

FILES
NODELIST

Save the file to a disk with NAM. And launch NAM. Wait for a large archive with a list
of everything that is on the fracks.

From Yuri Potapov To All 24 January 2002

SZ> For what? Uploads from one, and downloads to another?

if I have a disk with the name :"a"
and archives are downloaded there

then a disk with unpacked mail :"b"

and PKTs, by tradition, go unpacked

so let them go straight to :"b" and be stored

SZ> What's the point? Yes, and I don’t understand how this is. By the way, I don’t have glitches either in Malon,
SZ> or in
SZ> NAM, but there are in S-Terminal. For example, I write: AT$ - like help for
SZ> commands for
SZ> USR, it displays several lines and freezes. Until I change the port lock
SZ>
SZ> I won’t see anything on the screen anymore. S-Terminal works through
SZ> interrupts.
Something is buggy in the hardware.
Regarding the need for interrupts, did you see a bunch of CALL #6370 calls inside NAM?
And these calls are crammed in everywhere, right down to the character printing procedure. That's just how to get rid of them and need interruptions (so that the symbols don't
disappear when received).

VK> something is buggy in the hardware.

Maybe. But s-terminal is the only program that uses interrupts
for the modem.

VK> Regarding the need for interrupts, I saw a bunch of

VK> #6370 ?

I see. Much less in number compared to displaying on the screen - #8102.

VK> Moreover, these calls are crammed everywhere, right down to the procedure for printing
VK> characters.

Dismissed. There is no such thing in it, because... I looked at it separately - it’s terrible how I didn’t save memory... And the speed is mediocre.

VK> It’s just to get rid of them that we need

VK> symbols don’t disappear when received).

I don’t think I can handle it... Although, who knows. I'll do the freque...

By the way, the program mentions a speed of 115200, but the author wrote that it has not been
implemented... It's worth doing this. :) Although I only have a 33600 modem.

SZ> I drove away. There is no such thing in it, because... I looked at it separately - it’s terrible how memory

maybe
We calculate: 3.5mhz*1.7=5.95mhz
with port speed 56.7 without uart: 5.95e6/(56.7e3/8)=864 clock cycles
without turbo: 494 clock cycles, which is very, very little

SZ> I don’t think I can handle it... Although, who knows. I’ll do some freqing...
I need to throw out all these calls, and when an interrupt from the momet arrives, call (you can
and should also simplify this procedure)

I only need to change 2 bytes in the plate

p.s. but they wrote s-terminal in Samara, is it really impossible to contact the author
?;)
