From Sergey Zotov To All 23 April 2001

Hi, All !

My subj database collapsed when I started to download new mail, and the disk
had 52 sectors while the new one was 238... Although I have safetoss installed, after
pressing reset I see only a mess of bytes. :( Therefore, 1 question and 1 request.

Question: How can I still avoid this situation in Lara Croft 4.5? :/ Like man
I read it carefully and more than once...

Request: Who wrote to me lately and did not receive an answer, write again,
plz. :(

The magnetic storm mixed up the bits. ;( Look, Yurka Potapov has the same bullshit. :(
Interesting, does he also have LK45?

I did it simpler: soap on one disk, echoes on the second, third...
In three months, the disk with soap was only half full.
And echoes sometimes fly due to the fact that the disk is formatted into more than 2544
sectors. Lara doesn't like them. If you crawl past the 2544 mark, a glitch is guaranteed!
Even if there was a place.

I don’t know... probably :)

I have another problem... with the modem, he doesn’t want to work for me on 14400

This happens to me too often. KVA refused to provide the source code for the tosser, citing the fact that they were not at hand. Folks, who knows the structure of the postal base under the chest? Let's write an external tosser, huh? Or at least share
your knowledge with the general public...

With respect, Dmitriy.

I have Lara on the screw on one disk, on the other NAM + everything that it pumps out and
unpacks pkunzip

On a screw this is not possible.

There was just no space. :( Actually, that’s why I wrote here. In theory, safetoss
should have helped, but no. :/

In general, this is not at all necessary. ;) But in your case (knowing that you have modems) - definitely more. ;) I no longer remember where to connect the remaining
address pins (to 5V or ground), but it needs to be connected. In Oberon, where the scheme
was given, by the way, there was nothing about this?

I don’t remember... But everything works fine for me. I disassembled the lump (I pulled everything out of the slots), wiped it, and reassembled it. Turba is back. :) And again I don’t want to solder the mikruh... in order for the magic to work...

YP> I just have another problem... with the modem, it doesn’t want to work for me on
YP> 14400

Did you happen to use it? Although the only program that worked for me on 14400
(port lock >19200) is Sterm 1.1. There the driver uses a UART buffer, due to
this seems to be faster. If DosX had been redesigned in a similar way, IMHO Dikiy could have done the same.
By the way, there is a simple way to determine the maximum allowable port location.
True, it only works in processors that also have a terminal mode: Set
the minimum location and give a command that displays a large amount of information,
for example at&v (In a UMC 14400 modem it is convenient to use. ati10). Increase the lock and
the command again. And so on until the information is displayed without distortion. If
the symbols start to “stick together” or disappear,

I have the same garbage, and if you lock it to 19200, then as you say - the symbols “stick together” or disappear, and if it’s 14400, it does not respond to any
commands AT ALL. And from 9600 - approx. (the connection in this case is also 9600)
(USR GateWay 2000 TelePath II modem - 14400). Can you tell me what's the matter?

I have everything. Bye!

The computer handles any speed. I experimented up to 115200. Another thing is how the software is written. I didn’t keep 115200 in EM. I wrote my own driver - everything was fine. The connection was true at 33.6 K maximum. My line sucks. ;(

Missing IMHO. I remember I had a problem with the transmission of the Russian letter "Ya". :) Well
it wasn’t transmitted and that’s it. :)) I made the wires shorter - everything was ok. (It should be
noted that before this they were not long anyway. See 5-7.)

From Yuri Voynalovich To All 4 May 2001

You can check even more rigorously - try to send a sequence of
characters to the modem using the Melon macro, and even if earlier at this speed information was output from the modem without loss, then in this way the echo
may not display all the characters (since a higher
speed is used here).

Nothing of the kind. My internal UMC 14400 works perfectly with this lock.
The exchange speed is 12000.

_There was_. :) Was cut at 33.6. Now there is no speck. ;( About 56K - when the software was written, they weren’t very common. Even if I had found one somewhere, there would hardly have been anyone to connect with to check
the program’s operation. ;(

Is your computer's data bus stable? What resistors are used?

Good bye.

From Sergey Krinitsin To All 9 May 2001

AN> _Was_. :) It was cut at 33.6.

So it was at your maximum and connected. And it is impossible to increase this speed by increasing
the speed of the port lock.

SK> And it is impossible to increase this speed

What speed? The modem connected to 33.6 at the maximum speed possible for it. Data transfer tests have shown that the speed is indeed this high. What's incomprehensible here? ;) And the drawstring is a drawstring... I have always had the same...
115200.
