From Roman Timofeev → To All 16 March 2001
Good people! Tell me, plz, can the subject work according to the Kondratiev scheme
without buffering, and what needs to be done for this?
But at 9600 it works, but at 14400 it doesn’t want to :(((
The signs are: at a speed of 14400 the momed does not respond to commands at all, and if
the speed is increased to 19200, then various glitches appear in the form of errors and/or
missing characters, it connects to 14400, but reception occurs with errors.
(USRobotics 'GateWay 2000 TelePhath' 14400 modem)
That's all for me for now!
Sincerely, Roman (aka
TimeX).

THROW OUT THE RESISTORS, EVERYTHING! You can also throw out AP6, it is not necessarily needed, but in /some/
cases it helps. Addresses should not be passed through all sorts of LL1, but just
through AP5,6.
Make the wires to the modem as short as possible.

For some modems, speeds of 14400, 16800, etc. are considered non-standard;
they cannot determine these speeds. That's why they hang.
I have the same situation - USR 33600 does not understand the speed of lock 14400. And before
there was
UMC 14400 - he understood.
With the best, Sergey!
... I will buy a cerebral cortex prosthesis with firmware against hangover.

DESCRIPTION OF HAYES-MODEM COMMANDS
1.1 General description of Hayes commands
All commands must begin with the prefix AT (or At, aT, at) and To change the baud rate, you need to define it in the The command line can contain no more than 40 characters, excluding spaces and AT prefix. If the line is longer than 40 After switching on, the modem (as a rule) is configured to transmit 1.2 Basic set of commands AT - the beginning (prefix) of the command line A - manual response; A/ - the modem repeats the previous command line; Bn - selection of the communication standard: Ds - automaticdialing a number. s = P means that the digits of the telephone number En - local echo ON/OFF; Hn - line control; In - production code and checksum: Ln - setting the volume of the signal of the built-in speaker (loudspeaker); Mn - control of the speaker (loudspeaker); Qn - modem response control; O - after passing the command, the modem is configured to Sr - control of S-registers; Sr? - reading the contents of the S-registernumber r; Sr=nnn - input of the numeric parameter nnn into the S-register number r. characters, the modem returns an ERROR response and ignores the command
line. Editing erroneous command line characters is carried out using the

for software maintenance of the modem). Each response is a one- or two-digit code.
the response in symbolic form.
After receiving this command, the modem automatically
adjusts the transmission speed and character format to the parameters of the terminal.
The command switches the modem from command mode to
modem waiting mode for the carrier signal of the calling modem.
After receiving the carrier signal, the modem implements
a positive answer to the call procedure and acts as
switched to the automatic answer procedure.
If the modem operates on leased lines, then
answers the carrier without specifying the frequency. In this case, if the automatic answer (auto-answer) is turned off (S0= 0) and
a call is in progress, then to receive communication you must send
the ATA command.
The command is given without the prefix (AT) and pressing
n = 0 CCITT V.21, V.22, V.22 bis,
n = 1 BELL 103/202A.
After receiving this command, the modem begins dialing
the number and, upon receiving communication, switches to transmit
mode.
The command consists of a telephone number, which may include the following control parameters:
coming after the P symbol must be dialed
pulsed by the modem (characters 0-9 are used).
s = T indicates that the digits of the telephone number
coming after the symbol T must be dialed by the modem
frequency (characters
0-9, A-D, * and # are allowed).
s = , indicates a break before dialing the next
digit (2s).
s = ; if used as the last character in the command line, then after dialing the number
the modem goes into command mode.
s = @ the modem waits for 5 seconds of silence on the line,
if it does not appear within 30s (the contents of the S7 register), the modem turns off and
responds NO ANSWER.
s = ! if sign ! stands before the characters of the dialing sequence, the modem goes into the ON HOOK state (hangs up) on0.5s, and then
will again go into the OFF HOOK state (pick up
the handset).
s = S the modem dials the telephone number recorded
in the EEROM memory.
s = R when written as the last character in the command
line, sets the modem after dialing the number to the "answer" mode, but only if the modem calls to the modem "originate".
s = W the modem waits for a response from the station (long beep)
before further dialing the telephone number
(for example, access to automatic long-distance communication).
After the E1 command, the modem returns an echo of each character
transmitted to it, which allows you to find out how the command line really works.
Command E0 blocks this function.
n = 0 echo disabled,
n = 1 echo enabled
The command is used primarily when terminating telephone communication:
n = 0 disconnecting the modem from the line,
n = 1 connecting the modem to the line.
n = 0 product code message,
n = 1 counting controlthe amount of the program contained in ROM (EPROM),
n = 2 the modem checks the state of the internal memory
ROM and returns an OK or ERROR message.
n = 0.1 low
n = 2 medium
n = 3 high
n = 0 speaker is off,
n = 1 speaker is on only during dialing
and turns off after detecting carrier,
n = 2 speaker is on all the time,
n = 3 speaker is on after dialing the last digit of the number and turns off after detecting carrier
of the answering modem.
n = 0 response on,
n = 1 response off.
Regardless of the state of Q0 or Q1, the modem always reports the contents of the S-registers, product code, check
sum and test results (see commands S, I, as well as
&T).

There are two ways to disconnect the modem from the line:
- normal, when the modem receives an inactive DTR signal,
- when the modem receives a break signal from the remote modem.
The ATH0 command sends a break signal, which
lasts 4 s.
n = 0 the modem turns off normally (see command

configuration from NOVRAM).
Thanks to this command, you can switch from the transmission mode to the command mode of the modem without interrupting communication. The command requires silence before and after the direction
of the exit sequence. The value of this time is defined in register S12 (usually 50 = 1s). The decimal value of the ASCII character,which is the sign of the output sequence contains register S2 (usually 43, i.e.
"+").
1.3 Additional set of commands.
n = 0 the DCD signal is always active,
n = 1 the DCD signal exists from the moment when the modem
detects the carrier.
n = 0 the modem ignores DTR,
n = 1 from the moment of loss of DTR the modem switches to command-
operating mode,
n = 2 from the moment of loss of DTR the modem stops communication,
turns off the "auto-answer" function and goes into
command operating mode,
n = 3 from the moment of loss of DTR the modem automatically implements the ATZ command. The modem detects loss of
DTR if the DTR signal lasts longer than the time
defined in the S-register S25.
n = 0 the protective frequency is disabled,
n = 1 the modem sends a protective frequency of 550 Hz,
n = 2 the modem sends protective frequency 1800 Hz.
n = 0 transmission on switched linescommunications,
n = 1 transmission on permanent communication lines.
n = 0 asynchronous,
n = 1 for terminals that can operate in both
synchronous and asynchronous operating modes; The modem transmits the dialing command
asynchronously, and the data transmission is synchronous,
n = 2 from the moment the DTR signal appears, the modem dials the number recorded by the &Z command in memory
NOVRAM,
n = 3 when the DTR signal is inactive, the number is dialed manually
.
After receiving the connection, from the moment the DTR signal arrives, the modem is connected to the line.
n = 0 duty cycle short circuit / interval
39/61%,
n = 1 duty cycle short circuit / interval
33/67%.
n = 0 the CTS signal comes after the RTS signal. This
option appears during simulation
of a half-duplex operating mode. Data appearing before the CTS signal is received is ignored.
n =1 modem ignores RTS, with active CTS immediately
after connecting the modem. During asynchronous data transfer (command &M0), the CTS
signal is always active.
n = 0 the DSR signal is active,
n = 1 DSR is activated after the end of the connection establishment phase.
n = 0 end of the current test,
n = 1 start of the local analog loop,
n = 2 not used,
n = 3 start of local digital loop,
n = 4 modem agrees to start digital loop,
which is transmitted by remote modem,
n = 5 modem does not give consent to external device,
n = 6 start of remote digital loop,
n = 7 modem generates RDL loop, and then generates
and transmits a testing signal,
n = 8 analog loop connected to the internal test
volume.
it to NOVRAM memory. Access to S-registers in memory
NOVRAM.
n = 0 modem generates time base - timer signal 114 (15th pin),
n = 1 modem receives the time base for transmission from
the computer: timer signal 113 (14th piece-
rivers),
n = 2 modem receives the time base for transmission from
the line, from the carrier.
