Lara + hdd

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Alexandr Tkachev To All 14 August 2001

Greetings, All!

Recently, an hdd driver was flying in the echo, channeling under the cmos driver for Lara,
the idea is good, but without a clock it’s bad, in short, the idea is that Lara supposedly loads
a clock driver that is actually a loader for the hdd and cmos driver
the hdd driver loads into the area of the im2 vector, and the cmos driver is where it should be
that is, in #5B00. Next, I’ll throw in what I got, I immediately apologize for the fact that I tore out the procedure for working with hdd from the above-mentioned driver.

p.s When accessing the disk, it is not checked whether the image of the hard drive is or fdd, it is not
checked whether there is a hard drive at all, it is assumed that everything is in place and the screw is accessed via rst 8, it only works on scorpions
with gusto.

p.p.s It works for me and doesn’t seem to be buggy.

Regards Alexandr Tkachev.

I see you as if in reality, Alexandr!

AT> Just recently an hdd driver was flying in the echo, channeling under the

Hehe ;) Mihail Zharov and I only had to hesitate a little with
beta testing of the combined driver, as on you ;)))

AT> supposedly loads the clock driver which in fact
AT> is the loader of the hdd driver and cmos
AT> the hdd driver loads into the area of vector im2, and the cmos
AT> driver is where it should be, that is, in #5B00.

My table of interrupt vectors is not affected - everything is trampled into
256 bytes (although, I remember, I also had such attempts to fit in the
tester as well configurations).

AT> Next I’ll throw in what I got, I immediately apologize
AT> for the fact that I tore out the procedure for working with hdd from the above
AT> mentioned driver.

It’s okay ;) It’s still available as FreeWare as part of
DiskSourses v5.000 ;) True, it’s thicker and more stupidly written there, but I hope
DS will be released soon v6.000, with a cool set of procedures for working with a screw _not_
via ProfPZU, but directly via SMUC ports, with Master/Slave devices,
and the input data for the procedures will not change (you can already load from
Master/Slave-HDD by specifying only the TR-DOS partition number, image number, and
address/sector/track by TR-DOS standard, and loading with fullspeed
carried out _without_ a 512 byte buffer! And to upload sectors according to the
Tr-Dos standard, you need a buffer of only 256 bytes in size! (not 512!)

AT> p.p.s It works for me and doesn’t seem to be buggy.

Gentlemen, get tested drivers + source codes for them “first hand”
;))))

AT> Sincerely, Alexandr Tkachev.

Alexandr, don’t be bored! WbW, i┌i└/4D.

IV> Hehe ;) Mihail Zharov and I only had to hesitate a little with
IV> beta testing of the combined driver, as on you ;)))

IV> Gentlemen, catch the tested drivers + source codes for them “from the first
IV> hands” ;))))

They tested poorly there a glitch in the procedure for switching drives ld h,0 forgot to do
(MOA glitch!), in short, try pressing the “i” or “k” button, and then click
“e”, “d” and you’ll see, hear, and I also have this kind of nonsense
press “l”, select the 1st or 2nd letter, press “l” again, then break everything is ok, select
the 3rd or 4th letter again I press "l" then break and again there is a glitch, the text of the letter
runs into the header, in general, some kind of nonsense.

By the way, in Lar 4.50 at address #92f1 there is such a feature

: drive selection procedure

#92f1 ld hl,#8ece; here the current drive in "a" is selectable
cp (hl)
ret z
ld (hl),a
....
....

#9305 ld a,(#8ecf); flag 0=#3д13
or a
ld a,(hl)
jp nz,select via turbo loader
otherwise via #3д13

: reading procedure
#93fd di
ld a,(#8ecf)
or a
jp z,via #3d13
turbo loader

: procedure entries
#9413 di
ld a,(#8ecf)
or a
jp z,via #3d13
turboloader

so instead of ld a,(#8ecf) at address #9305 you can do a call test for
fddness, and in the driver itself remove this test then if image then rst 8
otherwise turbo loader, of course you must first get rid of the above-described glitches.

test ;for fdds
ld a,(hl)
or #80
ld c,#23
ld h,0
rst #08
db #81
sbc a,a
ld (#8ecf),a
ld h,#8e
ret

AT> Poorly tested

Indeed ;( error handling TrDos is not my strong point...

Sorry for the stupid tone ;) You are right all around!

AT> there is a glitch in the procedure for switching drives ld

What kind of MOA glitch is this? What versions of ProfPZU have it? -It seems to be working fine for me at 3.9f... Or is there something like a delayed bomb? Something
seems to be deteriorating in your memory?

AT> in short, try pressing the “i” or “k” button, and then

Yep, I saw this...

Tnx!
