Can no one tell me how to write a letter with a given message in .NETMAIL?
I have aka1=2:... and aka2=2:... How can I choose from them?

From Alexander Fisun → To All 6 July 2001
I discovered at 20:50:38 Wednesday 4 July 2001 that Sergey Zotov from
(2:5057/21.93) wrote All from ()
about { Lara Croft 4.50 }.
And I decided to answer.
SZ> And no one can tell me how to send me a letter with the given request aka
SZ> write to .NETMAIL?
I'll tell you
SZ> I have aka1=2:... and aka2=2:... How
SZ> should I choose from them?
As I understand it, you don’t have a description of Lara? Then catch:
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Begin Lara 4.5 ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Item 0. new.
- New in version 4.5
1. Fixed a glitch with the date
-new in version 4.4
1. Fixed a glitch with origins - now the random number throws out different origins more
less evenly.
2. The safetoss command has been added - if it is set, then the base
will not be destroyed, if you press reset during tossing, it
will simply remain the same as it was before. (now you can
not be afraid that if the disk runs out, the entire database will fly away -
you just need to reset and toss the mail in two passes)
True, in the safetoss mode there will sometimes be brakes.
- new in version 4.3
1. The @ directive has changed to the %% directive (still a little
more convenient)
2. There are such things as als0=, als1=, als2=, als3=.
This is for those spektrumists who post on the BBS only
one package with mail for everyone, filed under some address.
NowThe point will need to be given aka0=his address, boss0=
the boss's address, als0=the address to which these items are stored.
Letters will be written as if Lara has uploaded items
for the address aka0, aka1, aka2 or aka3.
3. Changed the slanted font for 512 pixels mode. (Although you can
load any fonts at all :-)
- new in version 4.2
1. Fixed glitches with the date in mode256.
2. Now you can set the maximum output file size in
sectors (pktsize= and messsize=)
3. Origins are now selected randomly from the list
(set to one origin per line)
4. There is a new function for writing headings - @ (see below)
5. Something like a notebook appeared (set in
setup)
Point 1. Description of the keys.
Main mode:
Q,A,CS+6,CS+7 - line up/down
W,S,CS+3,CS+4 - page up/down
O,P,CS+5,CS+8 - message next/prev.
E,D - aria next/prev.
R - list of arias
F - date
T - launch tosser
G - mail file defragmentation (useful if you have edited or destroyed messages a lot)
H - ptk file flags. The first two flags are editor flags
and the rest are FTSC-1 standard. The only useful
flag for the user is the extract message flag; if it is set, then
a .pkt file will be created from the file - i.e. this message
your answer (the message must also be written fromone
of your addresses.
SPACE - mark the message
U - write the message to a disk with the name saved 00.w
SS+U - write all marked messages into one file
Y - delete message
SS+Y - delete all marked messages
L - list of messages
(in this mode ENTER - select message, BREAK - exit,
SPACE - mark, Y - delete marked, U - write
marked)
Z - make pkt files in zed format (get answers) for
all addresses (bosses). For messages from which a
pkt file is created, the extract flag is removed.
X - - // - only for aka0
C - - // - only for aka1
V - - // - only for aka2
B - - // - only for aka3
M - destroy read messages (current - unread)
N - destroy all messages
SS+M - destroy all read messages arias
SS+N - destroy all messages in aria
(these commands do not delete messages that have not yet
sent - see make pkt)
CS+X - recreate the mail database (kills everything)
1 - write a new letter
2 - reply to a letter
3 - comment on a letter
4 - reply to another aria
5 - comment to another aria
6 - forward the message
0 - edit the letter
If you press ss with the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, then a
reply/comment will occur without quoting the body of the original letter.
8 - load setup from disk
9 - edit the current setup (onmoment of viewing)
SS+S - write the current setup to disk
K - add the file (in the subj field the first word is regarded as
the file name that will be entered instead of the real one; the length
of the file is determined not by the size in sectors, but by the length in
bytes, i.e. if you need to send some basic, then
you need to first convert it to the hobeta format)
J - unlink the file (a search will be made for uue sections throughout
the database, if the uue section is incomplete, then it is ignored)
I - view the file from disk.
CS+Z - exit (the current position in the messages is saved)
In editing mode:
CS+SPACE=BREAK - menu
CS+4,CS+3 - page up/down
CS+0 - delete
CS+1 - rus/lat
SS+SPACE - grf
CS+9 - destroy the trace. character behind the cursor (you can merge
lines, destroying #0d or #0a)
SS+Q - to the beginning of the line
SS+E - to the end of the line
SS+W - destroy the line
Attention, the editor supports auto-formatting when typing
as a whole line, but in this case, instead of the code #0d at the
end of the line, it puts #0a (for the editor #0d=#0a), which when
creating a pkt file will be replaced with #20 - space.
Menu:
Save & Quit - record the message and exit
Quit - exit without recording
Continue edit - continue editing
Edit header - editing the header
Insert file - insert a file (works very slowly due to
that the insertion is done line by line)
Clause 2. Description of work.
-The editor does not require .pkt files while working. The contents
of all of them are transferred to the post.p files during tossing.
-The post.p files must be the last ones in the directory, because the editor
changes their length when editing messages or deleting them.
-If the post.p files are not located at the end of the directory, then
the editor itself will move them there.
-When you write responses to messages, press the Z
key (or x,c,v,b) to create .pkt files with names in the
Zed format.
Point 3. Setup.
The date is stored on the mail disk in the 9th sector.
The rest of the information is in the file setup.p.
The length of the setup.p file should be no more than 24 sectors !!!

%D - date of the original letter
%d - date of your letter
%I - time of the original letter
%i - time of your letter
%N or %n - your name
%V or %v - Lara's version
For headers fileins and fileend there is only one key - %f file name
If you specify a number after the key, then not the integer
value of this field will be printed, but only the word with number n from the beginning
of the line (for example, if Subj=Viktor Kuzmin, then %S1=Viktor,
%S2=Kuzmin).
If after the key (may be with a number, or maybe without numbers)
add /b, where b is a number, then the field will be padded to b characters
(if it is less than b characters) or truncated to b characters
(if it is more than b characters), i.e. the insertion will always occupy
the same number of letters/bytes.
Any text can be highlighted with %%. In this case, it will simply
be superimposed on the text following it:
For the line --%% %A %%--------
If %A="", then we will get -- ------
If %A="cool", then we will get -- cool --
If after the name of the header we put an apostrophe and the name of some
echo, then this particular part of the header will be used in this echo. If nothing is specified after the header, then it will
be used in all echoes for whichthis
part of the header is specified separately:
origin'.NETMAIL
{
A lot of soap
}
origin
{
None
}
origin'C-NET.GENERAL
{
Generals
}
In all echoes except C-NET.GENERAL and .NETMAIL there will be an origin None,
and in .NETMAIL - A lot of soap, C-NET.GENERAL - Generals.
This all applies to the rest of the header parts (sign, forward, etc.)
starting from version 3.70 you can also specify a list of arias - after
the name of the header there is no apostrophe, but from the next line
there should be arias enclosed in square brackets:
origin
[
.NETMAIL
C-NET.GENERAL
]
{
Lara MED must be alive
}
Point 4. Driver for Cmos clock.
Starting from version 3.8 there is driver support for Cmos clock.
The driver must be no more than 256 bytes and must be
compiled with addresses #5B00. The driver has three entry points:
#5B00 - initialization of the clock + loading time into the buffer
addressed by the HL register pair. Also in register
A at the input is a copy of what was sent
to port #EFF7.
#5B02 - recording time from the buffer (HL) to the clock. This procedure
is called only after exiting the time editing menu
with ENTER
#5B04 - This procedure is called every interrupt. It should
update the time in the buffer at address HL. and on exit
the procedure must set the NC flag in order to
time redraw occurred (C - do not redraw on
this interruption). If #C9 is located at this address, then
the native time processing procedure will be called.
The time buffer format (HL) is:
year, month, day, hour, minute, second
and each field is allocated two bytes.
The year must be real (1999,2000, etc., not 98.99)
The month must be from 1 to 12
The number must be from 1 to 31 (30,29,28)
The driver must be on the disk from which the editor is loaded and
must have the name CmosDrv.C
Now a little about the loaded fonts:
If there are font512a, or font512b, or font256 files on the disk,
then they will be loaded instead of Lara fonts.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ End of Lara 4.4.W ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
That’s all.
Bye Sergey!
Waiting for an answer.

I tried, - in the usual way - nothing. In the best case, auto-selection of aka
in .NETMAIL, for this you need to write in SetUp:
======
areas
{
.NETMAIL x
}
======
where x is the number of any aka.
[although auto-selection aka seems to work without this entry in setup]
"Unusual methods":
****< 1. The idea immediately came to mind to write in SetUp like this:
======
areas
{
.NETMAIL y o
}
======
where y is the number of the currently needed aka,
and then go to SetUp using the "9" key and, quickly changing the aka number,
write a letter.
But for some reason this method did not work for me: auto-selection, as expected
was disabled, but letters were created only from aka1.
****< 2. Working method ;)
Before writing a letter from the aka you need, go to SetUP using the "9" key and
the symbol ";" comment on all unnecessary aka...
