Lara Croft 1.5

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Arseniy Astapenko To All 3 August 1998

Hello All!

Sorry, who had problems launching the subject,
the explanatory note did not arrive :(
Tosser works with *.E files, and * are
hexadecimal digits. Why E? Because E-mage ;)
Or maybe because these are echo files.
Tosser works with *.C, just hold
symbol shift when starting Lara, or just
change one byte in BASIC.
The fact is that many eXnet bosses
use Kondratiev’s PC zxzip, and he
gives the files such an extension.
As for incomplete tossing, as
I immediately noticed, problems arise with packages
of the order of 250 sectors (63 KB). Therefore, in
boss fasttech you need to set the size of the pktshnik smaller.
I have it 48K. Now about the program itself. Use it
at your own peril and risk. Various technical typos
which have already been discussed here (such as text disappearing
when translating lines) can be eliminated...

For the rest, so far only 2 comments have been made:
1. Disappearance of individual messages during tossing
(is this related to the max file size for everyone?)
2. Tossing speed is lower than in S-Tosser v 0.3

With you was
Ars^FTL

They wrote about this a long time ago in all the echoes, I give away unpacked 20 KB each
(played safe).

Hello, Arseniy!

Once, 03 Aug 98, a certain Arseniy Astapenko,

Why? Because ZED only makes indexes, and rewrites the subject into its own files. IMHO, no problem.
And also:
3. The row that is needed is not always deleted.
4. It glitches terribly when trying to respond to a large letter (I don’t remember the size, but
several screens), ZED will cut it off, but you can answer.
5. Sometimes the font beats when answering. Garbage is falling.

That's all for now.

With that, Arseniy, let me say goodbye.

Of course! In S-Tosser, the file is simply read and only the indexes are written, while in LAR all messages are distilled!
But with a RAM disk this is not particularly annoying (I mean the space on the disk, a mail disk is RAM). And if everything is on one flop?!.

And wishes:
1. I would like to see support for CMOS clocks (personally, I have a Glitch). Otherwise you have to shovel your time into the 9th sector -
an extra operation.
2. 512*192pix mode is cool! But I would like it to have two fonts: 64 characters 8*8 thick, and 80 characters 6*8
the same as now. And so that they can be switched between each other
at any time. (I’m probably writing about this for the tenth time already :)
3. In 256*192pix mode IMHO the best font is in ZEDe... Although
small, it is easy to read.
4. Kiril Frolov has already written about reducing the service field at the top. I fully support his proposal.

All the best.
Roman.

3.The letter ~H~ is not configured. As a moderator of this echo, I will punish :)
4. There is no CMOS support :( You need a universal boot, or a set of boots of your choice, which will write the time from the clock in the 9th (right?) sector.
5. In the 512x192 mode, you just need a thick font of 64 characters, with
the ability to switch to a regular font during operation, 80 characters.

I don’t remember everything, if I remember, I’ll write.

[Team Kelly]
Hasta la vista.

We need It’s just that the authors of the subject make in LAR itself support for clocks on ports
Gluck and *MAS* And in the setup, indicate the type of clock.

All the best.

Give the *MAS* standard to the echo or to me, pls. And here the guy did a good thing,
you can add. But the thing has nothing to do with this echo.

Forgot about Scorpovy CMOS on SMUK?!? :-E
A driver is needed for everyone to do for themselves!

With that, Roman, let me say goodbye.
