ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Alexander Araktcheew To All 24 September 2005

Hello All
So, the census, in the sense of recounting, is prohibited, just respond with any
letter in the echo. Somehow there are very few of us left...

Well, and not entirely in vain, mini questionnaire:

1. Experience on ZX (since 1993)
2. The first and subsequent computers up to the ZX (1989-Agat, figs now I remember which one,
from 1991 - BK-0010, actually it was a good machine..)
3. What were they doing there? (BASIC, a little assembly)
4. Where did we start on the ZX (Leningrad-128)
5. What they scored on (Pentagon 1024Turbo + a bunch of all sorts of gadgets)
6. What's the point? (Yes, it was fun to try out all sorts of things.. Eh..)

7. The fate of the last ZX (I sold it, damn it, what a bitch, in 2000, then collected it after the army, even tried to screw it up, and sold it again 2 months ago, damn it..
Well, that's it...)
8. Why? (When you spend 10 hours at work fixing all sorts of crap, your enthusiasm disappears, but if you still have to suffer from this at home, why the hell with it...)
9. Or maybe raise a fallen banner? (Damn it, nostalgia fucking torments...)
10. Well, what else can you do? (To be honest, who knows...)
11. Is there a point? (Bolt all over your face so that you don’t ask stupid questions
:)
12. What would you buy from ZX now? (Hmm.. Not an easy question at all, Sprinter
probably)
13. Is it necessary? (Yes, the second bolt is in your f...lo :) Honestly speaking, there is no need.. :"( )
14. When did you even see the last real thing? (I confess, more than a year ago..)
15. And the emulator? (damn,six months ago I launched: "( )
16. Well, why the hell are you still subscribed to Ehi? (Aaaah!!!......)
17. Add...

Well, I’m alive...

AA> Well, and not entirely in vain, a mini questionnaire:

And here are my answers to it:

1. Experience on ZX (since 1995 as the owner of his ZX, since 1991 as an acquaintance with Speccy in general)
2. The first and subsequent computers before ZX (before ZX I did not have my own computer, but in
gaming clubs I played on BKshki, Atari. In 1992, a computer class of a dozen UKSCs was opened at the school. I worked on them within (and beyond) the curriculum. Since the mid-90s, PCs have appeared at the school...)
3. What were they doing there? (BASIC, games, applied programs)
4. How did we start on the ZX (Byte-48 - I took it from my second cousin. My own first spec - ATM-turbo 1)
5. Why did they score (And I didn’t score. Now computer: ATM-turbo 2+/7MHz/1024Kb
RAM/128Kb ROM/210MB HDD (with full VG93 emulation in
RAM)/24xSV-ROM/COVOX/GS-512/mouse/PC-keyboard/EGA-graphics (each point its
color)...)
6. What's the point? (Interesting. Self-realization)
7. The fate of the last ZX (and now it plows like a beast!)
8. Why? (Because ZX is cool!)
9. Or maybe raise a fallen banner? (Is it possible to pick up something that hasn’t fallen?)
10. Well, what else can you do? (Well, I already wrote utilities, drivers too.Maybe
I'll gather my strength for the din...)
11. Is there a point? (if it’s interesting to me personally, that is. I don’t care about the rest!)
12. What would you buy from ZX now? (It’s a difficult question, considering the monster we have... Well, probably the same as what I have, but on an FPGA, so that there’s a little
(a little!!! You don’t need gigahertz!) more megahertz, and everything is designed (including
the location of the connectors) for an ATX case. There’s no such computer yet...)
13. Is it necessary? (We must!)
14. When did you even see the last real thing? (yes, I turn my head to the right from the monk with this message, and I see!)
15. What about the emulator? (It’s on the UNREAL PC. I launch it when I need to quickly see what kind of fish it is, and then fold it to the flop for real and waste time on it. Or when I need to test some ROM
firmware...)
16. Well, why the hell are you still subscribed to Ehi? (well, like, spektrumists
we! (fingers fanned out))

Hmmm, you missed something there =)) Well, I am, I’ve been living on the Spectrum since 1995,
when I bought “Companion-2” with the money I had saved up. A year later I bought Pro, which I still use to this day. Before this era, I studied Electronics at school, played programs on a bass, and I remember writing a test for a biology teacher. This is how we live

Well, in the echo so in the echo...

AA> Somehow there are very few of us left...
AA> Well, if it’s not entirely in vain, a mini profile:

AA> 1. Experience on ZX
(since 1989. I personally assembled my first ZX-48 with a soldering iron)
AA> 2. First and subsequent computers before ZX
(1988 Elektronika-85, DVK... oh, does BESM-6 count?)
AA> 3. What did they do there?

AA> 6. What's the point?
(There's no point in anything at all)

AA> 7. The fate of the last ZX
(Yes, here it is, lying next to it on the shelf, a new one is waiting for Monica, but there are no money)
AA> 8. And why?
for some reason?
AA> 9. Or maybe he can pick up something that’s fallen banner?
The main thing is that they pay correctly, and it’s not difficult to raise! :)
AA> 10. Well, what else can you do?
How is that? What about Sprinter-II?
AA> 11. Does that make sense?
see point 6

I’ve never bought them! And I won’t buy it! :)

AA> 14. When was the last time you saw a real thing?
Oh... Recently my bro brought an old ZX... from the trash heap... :(

what is the last one? here I have
pentagon1024+turbo+cache+turbovg+ay+covox+384x304+colortv+5.25"+gluk+hdd+cdrom,
I turn it on regularly. but on the other hand worth
pentagon1024+ay+covox+384x304+multicolor+512x192+bwtv+5.25"+gluk, I write
music on it. I also have Profi512+turbo+640x200bw+PoS ROM+scan
fixed to Pentagon, but I don’t have itturned it on since spring (the power supply needs to be replaced - it turns off after N minutes, I was already given a power supply of decent dimensions). and last
in order they gave me Scorpio (Ufa) 256+5.25"+colormonitor, I sometimes
turn it on purely for fun :)
AA> 8. Why? (When you spend 10
AA> hours at work fixing all sorts of crap, your enthusiasm
AA> disappears, but what else would you do at home with this suffer - well, what the hell...)
on the pros the power supply needs to be replaced, but on the scorpion the keyboard is inconvenient... although there is magic
(shadow monitor - I really don’t know how to use it), but on the other
computers there is no magic.
AA> 9. Maybe raise the fallen banner (Damn it, nostalgia, damn it,
AA> torments...)
I would give it to a pro if I found a chela (in Ryazan), but I can’t find a chela, because
I don’t know where and how. Bring your chels to us :)
AA> 10. Well, what else can you do? (Honestly, who the hell knows...)
I can write stories about the popes, for kilometers :)
AA> 11. What's the point? (Bolt all over your face so that you don't ask stupid questions :)
lately even the soldering iron has been itching - I re-soldered the EHKs on the power supply and the SD on the IDE controller!
AA> 12. What would you buy from ZX now (Hmm.. Not easy at all
AA> question, Sprinter, probably)
ZXBUS device, so that it plugs into the Pentagon, into the Z80 sockets and ROM!
AA> 13. Is it necessary (Yes, a second bolt in your f...l
AA> :) Honestly speaking, it’s not necessary.. :"( )
needed! I want two computers with screws :) and some other hardware for the slot (GS and
video controller on FPGA for 320x240x256 colors, hardware scrolling and clearing
rectangles, programming via ports by transmitting coordinates with
auto-increment - If I were like that, I would unsolder the vermicelli from the board)
total 3 slots are needed, and if I didn’t have a pisyuk, I would want a 4th one - under
the mouse (and maybe I would solder the mouse - I have one converted mouse lying in my desk,
plus there is an unconverted cast-iron super rat from the Poisk company).
AA> 14. When is the last one? saw the real thing?
AA> (I confess, more than a year ago..)
I even have unused boards :) scorpion (Ufa) - possibly working; two
dead pentagons128 - one of them with a mouse device; keyboards).
AA> 15. And the emulator? (damn, six months ago
AA> I launched:"( )
Unreal Speccy 0.22
and 0.32 is buggy on my win98!
AA> 16. Well, why the hell are you still subscribed to Ehi?
AA> (Aaaah!!!......)
y There are only 5 of me, except for the auto-created ones: ZX.SPECTRUM, REAL.SPECCY,
RU.LINGUIST (there is also Vega), SU.ASTRONOMY (there is also Ivan Mak), SU.HISTORY (there is

One of my friends ran away from the wedding palace because
he only had DEC cars (+Electronics, SM, DVK), and the bride
except BESM-6 nothing admitted.
At their work, if anyone behaves badly, they send them on
a business trip to Baikonur...
in the winter -40 with snowstorms, in the summer +45 and instead of snow, dust flies...
plus the local Chatlans and Patsaks regularly plunder-
the equipment from the launchers, prickly the electric wire doesn't
save - they steal it too ;)
It's better to freeze in Plesetsk...
at least there is some kind of civilization there... underground...

Hmm, you seem to know so many spektrumists, and not a single one? 8) I became acquainted through newspapers (both with Spectrumists and Amizhniks), Neftekamsk comrades also became acquainted through them, and many others. The most realistic way! Try

If you find fault with the words, then “calculator” and “computer” still have different
lexical roots:

to compute - to count, calculate
to calculate - to calculate, to calculate

Thus, based on the translation of the roots, a computer can be considered
really a “calculating machine” - a machine for counting, and a calculator -
a “calculating machine”, a machine for calculations.

How interesting it turns out... :)
