Who will give information about hayes modem'e

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Vladislav Tim To All 21 October 1999

Hi, All!

Hayes are available for 2400 and everything would be fine, but it doesn’t have
protocols. And the question is actually this:
There is an empty bed on it for 28 legs, so shouldn’t there be a little bitch
there? (without this chip, as already mentioned, the modem
works)
On the modem it is written:
MX-2496/1
made in usa

The missing chip is designated as: U5

Maybe you can dig up something on this topic.

I saw one like this. The ROM should be there. Throw it away.

Oh! Colleague! :) This is the *most* glucodromic modem in the World!
Don’t even try to connect it to Speck - you won’t end up with hemorrhoids.
Although... If there is no other alternative, then you can take the risk.

To the point, please. There will be information for you, and you will also have firmware for
this modem (ROM 27256-150ns for that same crib for 28 legs).

Sincerely, Felix.

But for me it worked +/- normally. Well, not the big one
, but the one who only needed +5V and had only 2 microcircuits on the board
.

IMHO this is more like mine. Which without ROM.
