*** keyboard and mouse controller for sale
ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Eugene Palenock → To All 22 October 2004
Hello, All!
I am selling a controller (from Scorpion) of a keyboard (AT or XT)
and a mouse (like Kempston, Microsoft or passive).
Optionally - I can add a mouse and keyboard (with an AT/XT switch).
The keyboard is good, by the way, with a plastic dust cover.
The controller is designed to connect to any Spectrum-compatible
standard computer IBM-compatible AT or XT keyboard and mouse
Microsoft-compatible or passive. The keyboard layout corresponds to
Latin QWERY and Russian _YTSUKEH_ (the feature is that such buttons as BYUZHEH
(which are via SS) the keyboard itself enters by pressing everything that is needed). The keyboard
supports BASIC128, TLW2, ZXWord, ISDOS, Tasword modes. Moreover, all the additional buttons
work (such as PageUp/PageDown/Home/End/Del - although I haven’t
found what sequence the keyboard enters in BASIC128 - but even there
it works). Pause button - stops the computer, Ctrl-SLock - presses Magic,
C-A-D - reset. LShift - intelligent - i.e. it does CapsShift for letters and
SymbolShift for numbers. RShift - SymbolShift. Ctrl - CapsShift. Alt - Ext.Mode
(CS+SS). LShift+RShift - switching Rus/Lat.
The mouse works like Kempston.
The mouse can switch to emulation mode of Kempstor, Cursor,
Sinclair-Left, Sinclair-Right joysticks.
You can swap the buttons.
Structurally, the controller is designed to be plugged into the systemconnector KAY-1024 or
Scorpion. However, it can be connected to any computer. It needs the following
signals (I quote here so that you can evaluate the reality of an independent
connection):
data bus (D0...D7)
address bus - only A0...A2,A5,A7...A15
IORQ
RD
IORQGE is the output signal of the controller for blocking
all Spectrum ports. This input is made in the computer like this
20 foot process (Z80) disconnect from everything and put a 0.6-1.0k resistor into the gap
. Now, leg 20 will be
IORQ for the controller, and the opposite end of the resistor
will be IORQGE.
WAIT. If nothing in your computer produces this signal
and it is simply pulled up through a +5V resistor, then everything
is simple - connect it to the 24th leg of the processor. And if someone
is still working on it, then disconnect the 24th leg of the processor from the circuit,
pull it up through 4.7k to +5V, and put a diode
in the gap with a plus to the processor and a minus to the Spectrum board. The controller
is connected to the processor.
DOS/ - the output signal of the controller that shows it
which system is currently active - 1=BASIC, 0=DOS. This is necessary
so that there are no conflicts with the ports in the DOS. This signal
is taken from the output of the “DOS trigger” (usually TM2, located
shortly after LA2 (not difficult to find, there is usually only one LA2))
With respect, Evgeniy.

Well, I have such a controller. But I’m just looking for a keyboard with a switch.
Can you sell it separately from everything? Under what conditions?
And also, on October 31, Sysopnik will take place in Izmailovsky Park at the usual place.
So come and bring your printers (and keyboard, if you agree). I'll take it, as
agreed, for 400 rubles.
To everyone else: ready-made
ATM-turbo 2+ printed circuit boards that came from the factory will be demonstrated at the sysopnik. So, people, you can also catch up.
For those who don’t know, the meeting place is Moscow, Izmailovsky Park, a bench nearby at the exit from the Izmailovskaya metro station
(the last car from the center). Meeting at 13:00 (lateness is allowed).
We will discuss the life of Speck and drink beer!
