From Vladimir S. Stepanov To All 1 December 2002

Good night, *All*!

In the last issue of the subject an article appeared dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the echotag.

I didn’t save it for myself (and I won’t forward it to you) only because I
didn’t learn anything new from it :)))

Sincerely, Vladimir.

From Wladimir Bulchukey To All 1 December 2002

Excuse me... That is, already sorry, Vladimir...!

Printed newspaper.
I don’t know what number, because... I read its Internet version at the address:
http://www.nestor.minsk.by/kg/ .

Today (probably tomorrow:) I’ll try to go there at night and throw it into
the echo.
Sincerely, Vladimir.

I could be wrong, but IMHO, this is a printed publication, the online version of which is located
at http://nestor.minsk.by/kg/

the newspaper itself is published in Minsk, usually in There is quite a lot of slag in it, but
there are also enlightenments like this :)

I got to this article... Unfortunately, it turned out to be written by a person who is not very competent in the echo question... What is the value of a phrase like "Sinclair is the
inventor of the Z80 processor"... :( Article in "Computer News" from Optical
Brothers was an order of magnitude better IMHO...

DS> By the way, in the 44th issue of Ogonyok (November 2002) in the section “Dates of the week”
DS> there was a note entitled “TIME TO GET THE SPECTRUM.”
DS> On the Internet it can be found at the address
DS> http://www.ropnet.ru/ogonyok/win/200244/44-62-62.html
DS> The printed version additionally contains a futuristic
DS> image of Sir Clive.

They are driving there, the ZX-Spectrum 16K went on sale on April 12, 1982!

And here is the text of this note for those who don’t have Internet:

TIME TO GET IT SPECTRUM

On November 7, 1982, one of the first computers (which became especially popular in the USSR in the 80s) ZX Spectrum 16K went on sale.

Its creator Clive Sinclair managed to seize the emerging trend towards
computerization and electronicization life, working as an editor in the technical publishing house Radio in practice. In 1961, Sinclair organized his own company, Sinclair Radionics. A year later, he invented and released the first microamplifier, the size of which was smaller than a matchbox.

B1966 Sir Clive went even further - his company launched the production of the first Microvision pocket TVs.

In 1968, Sinclair designed a real Hi-Fi system. Two years later - the first electronic calculator and electronic watch. And then he decided to combine all his developments in the field of electronics, founded a new company, Sinclair Research Ltd, and in the early 80s became famous for a series of inventions in the field of semiconductor technologies. And exactly, in 1982, such monsters of the computer industry as IBM shuddered - ZX Spectrum 16K and ZX Spectrum 48K appear on the market. In one year, 300,000 of them were sold.

1983. Clive's success knows no bounds: sales of ZX81 computers reach 12,000 units per week! They differ from competing computers in their portability, low
price (about $150) and ease of use.
He is knighted for his achievements in the field of high technology and for attracting large investments into British industry. His Spectrums are sold all over the world. But Sir Clive, blinded by success, does not see that the future lies in machines more serious than gaming computers. And when the battle with
Gates is already lost, he suddenly switches all the capacities of his company to
environmentally friendly transport.

The following is the list of Sinclair's inventions: C5, the first electric car. A complete failure with sales.Zike, the first electric bicycle. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Sinclair X1 Button Radio, the first microscopic radio receiver. Sinclair's company goes bankrupt and shrinks to one person - himself. Then Sir
Clive retires indefinitely.

Today he teaches mathematics at several British universities,
is interested in poker and poetry.

Food for thought: Microsoft recently became interested
in Sinclair’s research in the field microprocessors. And on his official website on the Internet, in the sales department, next to an electric car and a radio ($10), a free lot recently appeared... Surely a new one is brewing electronic
revolution.

Since when have competent people written articles in newspapers?
What are the phrases worth “...criminals hacked a bank with the help of a computer.
When they were identified and came to search them, they were stripped the most
main evidence: bank documentation and a modem...".
Or "Bill Gates - inventor of the BASIC language", as well as
"creator of the Internet".

As for waffles, it seems like Sir Clive said in an interview (1985) that SRl
developed a new technology for large-volume RAM - just something like a waffle
:). However, almost 20 years have passed - most likely Microsoft became interested in electric motorcycles - you can install Windows there. :)
