ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Vlad Sotnikov → To All 13 January 2002
I’m currently making a subject for my baby/girl on Speck. In addition, this
same text request will be used in all my future system programs
(and the next versions of Hplayer, Cat_Hdd, Vega Commander, CD_Walk).
The question is this: I have now made support for "ytsuken".
- firstly: where to put the "hzheby" keys? As you know, on the PC keyboard they
correspond to service characters in the English layout. Is there
any standard for "ytsuken" on Speck?
- secondly: does anyone need this at all? (I should have started with this :)
- thirdly: I want to add the “yutsuken/yaverty” switch to the SS+I
combination (fortunately it’s not used anywhere, it still has to be suppressed). Is it necessary
to do such interactive switching of the layout, or leave it only in
the general setup of the program?

Look how ZXASM, ZXWord, Horror Word have done it.

I don’t need Ytsuken.

In the setup, I think, it will be enough. The main thing is to keep the setup.
Bye, Vlad.

Hello, Vlad!

It is necessary, especially if all UUE formats are supported.
- base64;
- regular uue;
- uue with variable long strings;
- crc64 indication;
- xxe;
- zze 2.0;
- Creeper.
Especially Creeper, this format first tests the transmission channel, and then
allows you to use up to 253 characters (and not 64 like UUE) - i.e. the file
practically does not grow. I have a description of it for programmers, I can
soap it up.
zze is also not a bad thing, it uses about 128...200 characters...
Sincerely, Evgeniy.

It's done very cleverly in ZxAsm. Hangs on the "~|\{}" keys. Is this a standard?

mime don’t forget.
and it would be necessary to ensure that the collected sections of the large juyuk are accumulated not in text
form, but in a certain file, the header of which indicates which sections are missing.

Something like that. This was done back in Word...
Although I have come across more other options for placing these
keys (I just don’t remember which ones...)
So I can advise: place them on “~|\{}”,
but make it possible to put any letter on any key.
Hy... like in MMD. :)

it would be nice to base64 there too (in our Internet letters the attachment is base64

do it using the Zone controller (you can also use the pro-Finnish/Kai controller)
VS> - secondly: does anyone need this at all? (I should have started with this

it is necessary, it’s better to use the PKTs right away

ss-i is used differently in different programs, often like (c). Therefore, a better
setup.

yes. That's where they put everything. Only iS-DOS added Russian to numbers as a result of which it is impossible to type numbers in Russian mode.

imho, SS+I should not be used. Why so unconventional? Have you seen such a switch somewhere?
It is better to adhere to the ZX-Word or IS-Dos standard, since they are
supported in hardware in some PC-Keyboard controllers (Scorpion), that is,
pressing the right and left Shift in them is equivalent to Rus/Lat and is converted to
CS+1 or something else...
according to the ZX-Word standard and ZXasm's layout is as follows: (correct, plz, if I'm driving) CS+1 = Rus/Lat, CS+Space = Escape.
VS>> Is it necessary to do such an interactive switching of the layout, or leave
VS>> it only in the general setup of the program?
What will such an input be used for? If you are writing
comments, then you definitely need interactive switching... And in setup
it will also be useful.
All the best, siril.4d.perm.ru.

On a PC keyboard connected through the appropriate controller you can :)

The first time there was something like this. Only without the comment “Continuation...”.
The second time everything was a bundle.
