Roman Milukov and Alex Noman were talking.
RM>>> What is the IQGE/ (13A) signal on the Scorpio slot?
AN>> Is there such a thing? Maybe iorqge? They wrote about it in detail everywhere.
This is the same signal :) In general, as soon as the same
signals are not called in different circuits...
RM> Well, it’s better for Scorpio people to know what kind of signal there is.
RM> And I asked about the one that is drawn in the screw connection diagram (from ZX-Format#8)
RM> - IQGE/.
Scheme for obtaining IORQGE/ :
IORQ/ _________ IORQ/
|__--_____ IORQGE/
-- 330 ohm
The meaning is this:
The ports of various devices are decrypted not by the IORQ/ signal, but by the IORQGE/.
Therefore, by applying +5v to IORQGE/ these ports can be blocked.
In Scorpio it is used mainly for blocking the port #FF.
Almost all ports are blocked, including TR-DOS.
If you do not have Scorpio (there is no such #FF port) and the connected device does not
conflict with others (due to incomplete decryption, for example), then this signal
is absolutely unnecessary.
RM> Here, no one has seen Scorp's diagram or Scorp's himself.
Hmmm, sad... Sent an envelope - I'll send it :)
With a big “hello”, ARC.

By the way, in Scorpio everything is a little different... Much more cunning. All ports
are still activated by IORQ. But! But, when IORQGE/ is set to 1, it kind of “feeds” IORQ/ and “reaches” it to one. And that's it - IORQ/
stops being active.
Good luck! Evgeny.
