Once upon a time, Dmitry Naboka was tormenting Klava, and wanted to tell me about "GS+SIMM"...
DN> People! Give me a diagram for connecting SIMM to General Sound, plz.
Does such a thing exist? In GS, the authors use static RAM, which means there are no nodes for regenerating
dynamic memory.
In order to connect Simm to GS, it is necessary to replace
12 MHz quartz with at least two times higher frequency, or even better -
four times higher, create triggers for forming RAS and CAS,
multiplexers for switching the high/low half of the address
RAM, and counters for RAM regeneration.
In addition, the most unpleasant thing is that the logic that will provide all this must consist of very high-speed microcircuits, and I doubt that even the fastest TTL series K1531 and K531 will be able to reach these frequencies. Or rather, the microcircuits
of course will work, but the signal delay will be sufficient
for the memory not to work, or to work with glitches.
Sincerely, Sasha.

AP> Does such a thing exist?
It turns out that it exists, but Dmitry Lomov, in order to avoid excesses, did not
recommend its distribution, otherwise it would have long since flown over zX.Spectrum
...
Well, that's all, Alexander! Don't lose sight...
Sincerely, Midi
