Glitchoks (in Melon)
ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Felix Knajzev → To All 2 April 1999
Once [Wednesday March 31, 1999] at [07:15:31] there was a conversation between Kirill Maksarov
and All.
They discussed the topic "Glitch".
I decided to turn up the heat on this dialogue...
KM> I have a subzhik in Melon (I haven't used anything else
KM>). In general,
KM> after I upload a file (on the board, to the boss, etc.) and
KM> the modems are disconnected,
KM> in the terminal (and on the board, when asked to describe the file) instead of
KM> Latin letters
KM> Russian ones pop up, and the layout is not “yaverty” and not
KM> “ytsuken”, but in general
KM> some kind of left. And the layout is always the same. For
KM> their intended purpose
KM> only the "EXT MODE", "ENTER" and spacebar keys work. On
KM> the Latin font is not translated
KM>.
I will add:
Sometimes Melon freezes when calling automatically. So?
What version of Melon do you have?
The most bug-free one is Melon_v1.80+ It is recognized like this:
In the terminal, press SS+I, and then SPACEBAR (BS) - the window
with the list of macros should NOT be crooked. It was in this
version that IMHO the glitch with upload was finally fixed.
How much memory do you have in Speck? If more than 128K, then by
what standard?
Cure: (for freezing when dialing)
Melon must be launched from boot, which _before_ launchBASIC files
makes LD IY,23610; RES 4,(IY+1)! Or something like that.
Or you can write it directly in Melon's loader. ;)
Try for the sake of experimentation to run Melon from BASIC_48 with port #7FFD
open.
And one more thing. Most (IMHO - all) ZMODEM protocols on the PC
refuse to normally understand UPLOAD from Melon's side,
if the latter does not have the last option (ZCRCW^) set to [+]
(enabled) in the protocol menu.
Sincerely, Felix.
