From Victor Denisov To All 16 November 2000

Hi, All!

I "unearthed" the SEXONIX toy from the well-known CD "Emulators". The graphics are of course primitive, but I'm partial to games like XONIX. I copied it onto a 3.5" floppy disk. And it turned out that it takes 2.5...3 minutes to load on my Scorpion 256. Almost 18 minutes per track. Moreover, the first tracks are read very quickly. I tried to load from 5.25", various utilities for converting to disk, changed "boot" to
JC 4.0T. Everything is useless, only the VG93 burned out due to overload. I have never encountered such a “brake” before. Is it possible to somehow speed up the loading, or is this a feature of my ZX?
And on the emulator the game loads clearly and without a hitch, which is probably what it was
written for. “It’s a shame for the state.”

Sincerely, Victor.

It was like this. On my Scorpio there are no problems.

You're delusional.

On a computer “Byte” manufactured by BEMZ, with some modifications,
loads in 15-30 seconds. So it’s unlikely that SEXONIX is only for emuls...

In general, it was written for real life, and it has three types of loading: a turbo loader, a
regular loader, and so that it loads with music! What kind of problems do you have, I
don’t know! And as for the power, you exaggerated, because... after all, it was written
for real life! =)
I wonder what you did with the vgshka to make it burn? Because of sexonix! ;) We need to ask the authors if they envisaged combustion of the gas! ;)))))

There is also a game called DOUBLEXONIX, maybe you can play it, it seems to
not be so buggy! ;)

ps: all this nonsense was written late at night in a very intoxicated state, so
please excuse me! ;)

Well, that's all, Victor, for now.

Reason_#1: I have an ancient version of the game "Chase H.Q." with the same glitch.
This was one of the first attempts to use something independent instead of #3d13.
The floppy disk must be formatted with the original TR-DOS interleaving.
Do you have FUT_v2.01? 'Options' -> 'Normal Disk' (check the box).
After this it should boot at normal speed.

Reason_#2: During loading, music from AY is not playing?

Reason_#3: VG93 was slowly and sadly covered. My VG93 crashed with
the same symptoms (I spent a very long time reading the catalog of the disk using CAT) due to problems
of the power supply (wrong order of +12V and +5V supply to VG93).

Sincerely, Felix.

There are also three loading modes:
normal, fast and cool IMHO as I remember.

On normal it loads normally everywhere (and on Scorps too), it didn’t load on fast
anywhere :) (I looked at the Pentagon, Skorpe, Tokke) Hangs completely, maybe of course it loads, but very slowly. Looks like you have this look.
Cool loads to the music, clearly the stump is 5 times slower than normal.

But the most MD is that you can change the loading type only by loading the game, there is no fever
resetting to normal..

All the best, Dmitriy!

If from AVE then it was read through #3d13 one sector at a time
and each time something was counted to go to the next track!

What do I have to do with it? I haven't launched it for a couple of years now. ;-)

I noticed that different VGshki work at different speeds. The difference is barely
noticeable, but true.

With respect, Alexander Kushnikov aka Sander.

You’re delusional. This can't happen. Whatever clock frequency they give it, that’s how it
works.

2.5...3 min. per track, almost 18 minutes.

I’m even more sorry not for the “hardware”, but for the wasted time on experiments

XONIX \tape\ was once my first toy on the RK-86. Only then
I didn’t work with computers for about five years and it’s greatbehind the times.
We have to make up for lost time. This is such a “heartbreaking” story.
