-------- FAQ --------------------------------------------------------

Q: How to frack a file with Melon?
A: To do this, you need to correctly register the phone
in the Melon configuration where to call and leave an empty line instead of a password if the session
is passwordless. Then you need to generate a file in which
the names of the requested files will be written, one in each line.
This file must be called with a special name: the REQ extension, and the name
from hexadecimal digits. The first four digits are the hexadecimal
network number, and the second four digits are the hexadecimal number of the node
from which the file is requested. For example, if a file is being transmitted from
a system with the address 2:5030/827.2, then the file should be called
13A6033B.REQ.

Q: And then what?
A: If the station is working now, you force the melon to call.
And if now ZMH (if you don’t know what it is, then how do you
point in Fido??? Read FAQ 64kb about Fido), so if now
ZMH, then most likely the Freks will not give up. They definitely
will not be sent to the feed node at this time. And you don’t need to call 20 times.

Q: But nothing works, 13A6033B.REQ is not transmitted!
A: Well, that’s right, if the melon is not patched, then it only sends PKT people!
New versionsMelona (1.90, etc.) can and are able to send REQs, but the old ones
cannot. You need to patch the melon so that it can also send REQ files.
If your melon calls to many stations, then so that it can normally freck
from several stations, then you can make sure that the name of the sent file
is specified in the config, for example, instead of the name of your station. For example
I have a Melon under the control of MMD_4.00 that called 4 stations!

Q: What bytes need to be changed in order for REQ files to be sent?
A: I don’t remember. Take STS and find out for yourself. Or find an ancient patched Melon 1.80+,
or newer.

Q: How can I get a list of files?
A: “files” in the REQ file.

P.S.: Or better yet, configure Dickie under iS-DOS and 99.9999999% of problems will disappear.
