ISDOS disk format
ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Eugene Palenock → To All 7 March 2002
Hello, All!
Give me some information about the physical format of ISDOS floppy disks.
I remember that the last sector there was numbered 9 (or 8?).
But the first 4 were 0123 or 1234?
And it seems that the last sector was named 9 on all tracks, and not just on 0?
The physical format of a bootable floppy disk is no different from a non-bootable one 800k ?
zy. check in Conver Commander 4.61 - it showed the format in the doctor. But I
have nowhere to run it.

5 sectors of 1 kb. Numbers 1,2,3,4,9. The side number seems to be set
correctly.

The sector with number 0 is not used practically anywhere on Spectrum and PC.

For everyone. And in Profi CP/M only on track 0.

Of course not. There is a problem when transferring zx<->pc - either sector 1 starts
too
early and is not readable on PC, or sector 9 ends too late and if
recorded on PC
it is not readable on Spectrum.

There are programs on the PC...
