Once again about DMA chips

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Andreas Kaiser To All 23 January 2000

Hello, All!

Here I am again on the subject. Microcircuits DD25-DD28 - is it really 555TM9? Damn, I’ve already looked at three diagrams (Russian), there were three pages on the Internet, where there were tables of analogues. Well, it can't be TM9!!! What kind of ms is this? Who actually drew
(redrew) the diagram? There's an error there after all. Damn, I’ve already distributed the board, everything is as you wanted, but here it’s such a bummer. In general, I’m throwing out a list of mikruh
with which I split the board (bourgeois analogues in brackets):
DD1, DD2 - 555ID7 (74xx138)
DD3 - 555LP8 (74xx125)
DD4 - 555LI1 (74xx08)
DD5 - 555LN1 (74xx04)
DD6 - 1810VT37 (i8237A)
DD7 - 555AP4 (74xx241) I also doubt about this mikruhi. In the diagram it is somehow drawn differently than in the reference book
DD8 - 555LA3 (74xx00)
DD9 - 555IR26 (74xx670)
DD10, DD11 - 580VI53 (i8253)
DD12, DD19 - 555LL1 (74xx32)
DD13 - 555IR22 (74xx373)
DD14, DD16 - 555TR2 (74xx279)
DD15 - 555TM2 (74xx74)
DD17, DD21-DD24 - 555IR23 (74xx374)
DD18 - 555TM8 (74xx175)
DD20 - 555LA2 (74xx30)
DD25-DD28 - 555TM9 (?) (74xx174) the diagram shows a different ms, more precisely
its pinout is different from TM9
DA1-DA4, DA9-DA12 - 572PA1 (AD7520 (?)) I also wrote about this,
the pinout is excellent, the function is the same
DA5-DA8 - KR140UD20 (uA747 or mA747)

Now either confirm the list or correct it. If everything is correct on the diagram,
I will lay it out as it is.

Cregards
Andreas

From Felix Knajzev To All 24 January 2000

Greetings, oh venerable Andreas!

[Sunday January 23, 2000] at [15:10:17] Andreas Kaiser wrote a letter to
All.
They discussed the topic “Once again about DMA chips.” Let's continue what we started...

AK> Here I am again on the subject. Microcircuits DD25-DD28 - is it true
AK> 555TM9?

Yes. 100%

AK> Damn, I already looked at three diagrams (Russian) in
AK>, on the Internet on three pages
AK> there were tables of
AK> analogues. Well, it can't be TM9!!!

Why? :) The developer needed *only* 6-bit ports, so he installed TM9.

AK> What ms is this? Who

Is it really difficult to guess from the diagram that this is a data latch register on the front?
:-/ Look at the ANALOGICAL 8-bit channels
on the IR23.

AK> did you even draw
AK> (redraw) the diagram? There's an error on top of an error. I

I have x.z. knows which version of the circuit is for 1997 (the archive is dated).
During a quick inspection, no *obvious* errors were found in it.

AK> damn, I already
AK> wired the board, everything is as you wanted,

And what “we” wanted? :)

By the way, what are its dimensions now? ;). :) I have a bunch of them and in each one “bug on bug and bug
drives.”UGO (symbolic graphic designation) of microcircuits in each directory are drawn differently.

AK> DA1-DA4, DA9-DA12 - 572PA1 (AD7520 (?)) I also wrote about this
AK>,
AK> the pinout is excellent, the function is the same

Wire as indicated in the diagram, i.e. under 572PA1 and everything will be in order.

AK> Now either confirm the list or correct it. If everything is correct on the
AK> diagram,
AK> I will analyze it as it is.

Why not try to find those rare owners of an assembled and working
subject and ask them about the glitches of the
scheme they were using?

p.s. I recommend providing the board with seats for blocking capacitors on the +5V bus and LC filters (one in each arm for all
loads) in each arm (+/-12V) of the power supply for operational amplifiers and DACs.
And there is more “land”, especially in the area of the ANALOG part.

Sincerely, Felix.

Firstly, the board will then be elephant-sized. Secondly, there are two “grounds” - analog and digital. Tell me how to separate two lands and
food on two layers? Thirdly, hang the capacitors and so on.

And as for the analog ground - as I already wrote, stick a rail into the ground in your garden and attach the Speccy to it.

C Best regards
Andreas
