Bah! Who do I see! Michael, is that you?!

On Wednesday April 28, 1999 at 21:30:49, Michael Kondratyev pressed peeps for Oleg
Pritula about "Dickie news":

OP>> I would still like to understand why such a perversion is needed with

MK>?

I don’t have a cat, I have a cat.
According to your advice, having prepared a very good sleeping place for him, I tried place it
in the area of the keyboard.
Unfortunately, after the nth number of attempts, due to the cat's inadequate reaction
to my actions (maybe the cat is what is needed?), the process was suspended.

Results:
1. For completely unknown reasons, Dickie, written for is-dos, did not start working with
using a keyboard designed specifically for is-dos.
2. The ability to simultaneously press more than 2 keys did not appear.

Conclusions:
1. Perhaps the problem is not in the cat, but in the author’s failure to consider the features of the released hardware for the platform and system for which he wrote this valuable product?
2. True, its value is for the “lucky” ownersof this device, in this
form is very, very doubtful. :(

I still don’t understand what the problem is. The problem is that on a film keyboard, pressing three keys is not processed - so this can be treated by reducing the cut-offs,
which are at +5V. or that there is a connection for extended keyboards - this can be reflected in the corresponding program fragment (and for keyboard shortcuts the combinations will be even more convenient: alt+?). Why am I giving away the source texts of everything hardware-dependent? So, for those who are interested in this very exotic...

by the way, I found a mention of allophones and the ttyin48 driver on one of
the oldest disks. Around 94-95 they were forgotten, and completely forgotten. Already
later, tt_ext also appeared, in which ext was used as a third
shift and its support in the editor.

the author of the product prudently followed in the footsteps of the authors of the system.taking all the hardware into one big driver. if the consumer of the product is dissatisfied, he
can either bring to life his own programming abilities, or
provide the author with complete information about the features of the released hardware
(however, in this case the waiting time will be at least inversely proportional
to the number of applications for each specific copy).

fortunately, for now 'the circle of these revolutionaries is small..' ;)

Bye, Michael.

XT keyboards are connected to the Spectrum through adapters that
do not allow pressing more than 2 keys. And sometimes they hang if there are too
frequent requests.

Most of these adapters should be able to work directly with
buttons, bypassing zx-kbd emulation. and in the handler alt == ext is made, after which exactly 2 keys remain.

Bye, Michael.
