0.12 mm. The iron is assembled “end-to-end with a gap”.The gasket is ordinary thin paper.
Connecting it requires intervention in the computer circuit: the signal must be supplied to the input of this modem directly from the output of the register (usually TM9, in Quantor it is the 5th leg of D31), bypassing the resistor divider of the tape recorder output. The output of the modem is fed directly to the tape input
of the computer.
Notes:
1. The local computer "Quantor" has a very decent comparator on 554CA3, so
no additional ones are required.
2. if you are not too lazy to start +5V, then it is advisable to do part of the circuit like this:
+5V <─███────┐

Yes. A gadget.
Of course, whoever wants it, makes it for himself!

Well, but we are still basting cabbage soup here...
Vicomm is used by those who do not want to spend money on haes, but make it themselves.
And XTR is not a competitor to it, in this sense.

depends on the specifics of distortion/interference.

In 464 this is not the case. A smart person set up the wicoms.
Drawdown of the 15V line. Modulation 90% (parallel telephone screams throughout the entire apartment if you pick up the phone). And the connection is shit :(
Maybe you can send me a diagram of your travel route.

By the way, yes, for example, HST cannot be defeated, but it is not always cost-effective due to the price
of modems that have it. And in terms of price/performance, the above is quite
possible.

With a trance, and a small, branded one, the local signalman who did the momeds was very complimentary. And again - the proof confirms its quality.
But still - continuous repetitions, including on Pentagons.
Question to the specialists: which comparator is the best for Wicomm (obviously not on CMOS
inverters). Maybe there is a proven scheme?

It has been tested for a long time - on almost any op-amp it is better than on the 561LH2.
The simplest thing - look at the circuit from 48 spectrum (140UD2 and 553CA3?).

Once again - NOT possible. If you don’t know, then don’t write something like that here.
DL meant his XTR, where the decoupling is made using optocouplers. This is more complicated
and often similar than using a transformer. There is only one advantage - there is no
huge capacity between the computer case and the telephone line (this is
a bad transformer).
2All: I do not recommend connecting directly with any power supply.
Especially computers with connected printers, monitors, TVs.
Between By the way, a collective antenna is often plugged into the TV and when
it is connected to the telephone wires along with the Momed and Spectrum
something burns out on the PBX. You will pay a lot for turning it back on,
more than the transformer costs.

No need to distort my words!!! nothing.
We recently had a multi-kilobyte flame on a similar topic in our local network.
A man burned his writing and a printer (or two computers?) while trying to connect them
(buzzing) via LPT. It was not grounded. It got seriously burned. But it’s good that at least everyone is alive, and the computer is not personal, but at work. And then some are fun, some are angry, electrical engineering and T.B. studied in echo.
Such debates are unnecessary here.

Tyu! I thought we were talking about the ONLY comparator!
After all, it is the comparator that stands directly after the transformer
that determines the quality of communication! Well, from a transformer, of course.
And if you have a comparator on the vicomm itself, or just an amplifier, then
it almost doesn’t matter what kind of comparator is in the computer, as long as it works.
I don’t have any comparator amplifiers in the vicomm itself. And the connection
is very decent, even like this: my PBX (normal) is a very rotten PBX - PBX
point (it’s there too, the radio is playing in the handset).
