CXEMA_SV.ZIP [1/1]
ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»
From Aleksandr Majorov → To All 10 July 1999
Somehow 00:39:24 at about 10-07-99 someone Kirill Frolov reported
for Yura Yakimuk that “CXEMA_SV.ZIP [1/1]”

KF>>>> I’m warning you right away - without a transformator it is impossible.
DL>>> it is possible, it is possible ;)
YY>> If the power supply is not pulsed.
KF> Once again - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. If you don’t know, then don’t write it here better.
Can you prove it?
I myself turned on the modem without a trance, once...
Still alive.
The current in the presence of a pulse power supply in the line has a terrible hum.

KF> By the way, a collective antenna is often plugged into the TV and when
KF> it is connected to telephone wires along with Momed and Spectrum
tell me stupid, what is common between a _collective_television_
antenna and a telephone cable???????
KF> something burns out on the PBX. You'll pay a lot for turning it back on,
KF> more than the transformer costs.
let's not push it, shall we?
First of all, the ATS at the cross-country _should_ have overload protection,
so that nothing burns out there. (There are exceptions, but if the
PBX burns out, then it’s not you who pay, but the designers)
Secondly, tell us during _what_ period of time
“everything burns out”?
I once repaired an AOH whose network trans was broken - there was simply
a short circuit in the turns of the secondary and primary windings.
Everything worked, currentwhen you plugged in a mechanical
telephone into the telephone line, the phone started to ring like crazy.
And that’s it!
I turned it on like this (while I was looking for what was wrong) several times
with no consequences!
Well, that’s it *MAS* with a sledgehammer

KF>> is better.
AM> can you prove it?
AM> I myself turned on the modem without a trance, once...
AM> Still alive.
Yes, I don’t argue, smoke won’t come out right away, maybe it won’t come out at all...
But MAYBE IT WILL BURN.
There was such a case - a person stuck the spectrum into the TV set, and it was
connected to the TV antenna... Both the spectrum and the printer connected to it burned out,
THE TRACKS BURNED!
AM> The current in the presence of a pulsed power supply in the line has a terrible hum.
Not always. I also connected...
AM> tell me, stupid, what is common between a _collective_television_
AM> antenna and a telephone cable???????
Ground wire. And the voltage is IMMENSE volts sometimes.
AM> let's not drive it, okay?
AM> Firstly, the ATS at the cross-country _must_ have overload protection,

Yes, I’ve never heard of burnt-out PBXs.
But the Spectrums with Wikomniki burn with a bang.
Well, anyway, you can’t do without a trans, no need to teach bad things here...
Just like zxlink did everything on optocouplers untied... where the hell is it
definitely not needed...

KF> Yes, I’ve never heard of burnt-out telephone exchanges.
Penza, about a couple of months ago.
ATSK for 5 thousand numbers. It was designed by the local
PKO (fortunately, otherwise Giprosvyaz would have been completely screwed :)
During the design, protection at the cross-connection was not taken into account (although
it should be installed _mandatorily_!) And since the station
was almost maintenance-free, when a voltage was applied it
began to slowly smolder.
After some time it just burst into flames rulez.
one of the three stands burned out completely, and the good firefighters
"just in case" poured water on the two remaining stoics....
KF> But the Spectrums with Wikomniks are burning with a bang.
and I haven't seen a single Speck burnt out from the phone :)
KF> Well, anyway, you can't do without trance, don't teach here bad...
current is not entirely true: it is impossible without _galvanic_ isolation,
but how it is made - trans, optics, or relays is a third matter.
KF> The very way zxlink did everything on optocouplers... where it is in the world
KF> is definitely not necessary...
and by the way, in the description I said that the galvanization was made purely
from reinsurance!!!

Lucky, if it worked, there could be trouble.
It’s probably time to give up on this, who cares - non-soap. Well or in
RU.ATS

What kind of nonsense?
And isn’t it a shame?.. :)
Without a good galvanic isolation, a computer _cannot_ be connected to a telephone line
You just can’t, that’s all.
And it’s also undesirable to prove this experimentally.
All the best.
Sincerely Roman.

Most likely, the collective antenna is grounded, and the telephone cable
really does not like grounding - as a result, the signal in the line disappears altogether :(
