For some reason, no one really understood me :(. I’m not offering a super-duper sophisticated Spectrum. I’m offering the same Pentagon, but with the possibility of further modernization (and even “specific”) with little blood. JUST WHEN
I REALLY NEED IT, EVERYTHING WILL INSERT INTO MY COMPUTER WITHOUT PROBLEMS, AND YOU WILL AGAIN CUTE YOUR
PENTAGON II AND BRIND IT WITH WIRES.
In short, I’m giving up on this topic for now, I’ll find a dock for hardware z180 and
z380 and then the first ones I’ll show everyone my work and then we’ll discuss it.
Sincerely, Dmitry.

Hmmmm... The Spectrum was originally designed with a closed architecture.
So? So how are you going to “modernize it with little blood”, without changing
this very closed architecture?

It's not about a specific piece of hardware, but about the closed nature of the spectrum...
Good luck !

I would be the first to support you, but, IMHO, you don’t quite accurately imagine
the whole complexity of implementing your project.

The main hope is in the operating system, which should take care of the various hardware.

What’s so complicated? Decompose the circuit of the same Pentagon into blocks and do it on separate boards? In addition, the TR-DOS controller seems to be released by Nemo for his Kai. Why not take advantage of this? ;). Zonov sells a keyboard and mouse controller, and not only him. Look, Ivan Mak
likes the idea and he will make a video controller with Sprinter graphics modes :-).
Sincerely, Dmitry.

everything is correct. all this is feasible. but you also wanted to poke the processor into the slot. and I wanted to make it replaceable from z80 to z180/380. but this is where the
complexity lies.

I didn’t just want to stick the processor into some kind of its own slot. It's just that the new bus will contain more address bits and possibly data. And
the memory management ports will be on the processor board with the Z80. Let's say in five years everyone will decide to install a Z180 or Z380 on their computer. The replacement will
consist of replacing the processor unit. Of course, on a board with a Z380 ports
there will be no extended memory management - the processor already has a 32-bit address bus. One bad thing is that with this approach it is difficult to achieve compatibility with old software :(. But in principle it is possible :). Most likely, the future user will not notice the difference (except perhaps acceleration). And about the programs
written for the system (on which everything will be based), there is nothing to say
at all - they will only get better from rearranging the processors.
Sincerely, Dmitry.

you don’t quite clearly imagine the scale of your idea, IMHO. here
the problem is not only, or even so much, in the memory management ports. although this also deserves attention - the z80 is an 8-bit processor, it also uses eight-bit memory. z380 is 32-bit, but the memory in this case remains the same.
The circuit will have to be changed. It is also essential to use a new GTI for
z380, which will have to be substituted in place of the old one. Also new in the computer architecture will be the presence of a third interrupt mode in the new processor; its use will also need to be included initially in the motherboard. and
all this leads to an unnecessary increase in cost and exorbitant complexity of the board.
simpler, when the need arises, wire the board using the z380 in
all its glory.

as it turned out, there will be no need to achieve compatibility with the z80, because z380
has the ability to work in z80 “emulation” mode.
