Hello dear hackers and all the others. Those who live in the city of Yekaterinburg, and in general in the Sverdlovsk region and
have heard about this computer, may not read this
section.
For those who have heard about this computer
only from ZX-review magazines, I advise you to read it
.
And we will talk about the great computer
Quorum 256. And I will not be afraid put
it on a par with such well-known developments as the Pentagon 128 and Scorpio ZS
256, but not lower.
The computer configuration is designed,
as if, especially for a professional hacker:
Hardware configuration:
- 256 kilobytes of RAM with the ability expand-
Rhenia up to 512 and 1024.
- 64 kilobytes of ROM
- CP/M Turbo 3.4T loader (this will be discussed
below)
- Two ROM modes - 48 with an extensive menu system and 128 - standard.
- Standard TR-DOS 5.04T;
- Screen attributes port FFh;
- Port 0 - system port;
- CP/M port 80FDh
- Centronix printer controller with support for 128 BASIC mode.
- Kempston controller;
- Possibility of connecting Kemp-mouse;
- Music. coprocessor AY-8910(12)
- maskable interrupts;
- Extended keyboard;
- System bus;
- Possibility of connecting C-DOS and Hayes
- no Magic Button.
The last point cannot be attributed to the disadvantages of this computer. Now I
will tell you about the CP/M 3.4T system and everything
will gradually become clearer to you.
This system flies at the same speed as TR-DOS, 128 kilobyte files are loaded in 40-50 seconds. The system
works with the standard Spekov screen resolution of 256x192x8 colors, the top screen is used
and RAMDISK C is immediately installed: with a size of 192 kilobytes.
The system prompt has been modified to make it more convenient to work with
user areas as with directories on a computer:
A:\D\>
where D is the name of the user's area. System
maworks with standard CP/M floppy disks of 800 kilobytes in size.
This system has a special
shell Norton Commander v.2.3. which is
a complete analogue of the Write Shell.
Oh, along with all the commands, it (
starting with version 2.0) also allows you to work with
USERS as with directories. The shell also works with disks in the
MS-DOS format in the same way as with SIPEM
disks.
The Evg/Stall hacker has developed a debugger
STD 2.xx, which is loaded into the upper
part of the memory (additional RAM with addressing
above 128 kilobytes) and is called
by clicking on NMI. The interface is very
similar to the UKV emulator on IBM. Its capabilities:
- Working in CP/M format with Snapshots
type .SPC (Quorum Snapshot), Z80 - 48k,
Z80 - 128k - writing reading.
- Working with .PIC, .SCR screenshots (also
writing/reading)
- Working with object pieces of memory
(z/s)
- Trace of programs (including with
TR-DOS);
- Search for parts of text by mask;
- Calculator;
- Disk explorer (get ready);
- Detailed Help;
- working with registers, etc.
- And most importantly, it understands undocumented
commands (!)
Just a thrill for a hacker-cracker.
The main thing now is that no protection from Magic
Button will help ;))))))). For example, you
load 'Black Raven' and call
this shell via NMI. Write the contents of the memory to disk in Z80 format and forward.
edit. Then you can trace it in any way,
in general, do whatever you want.
By the way, with the help of this system
I traced Binary
Love length and breadth, and tore out a flashlight and plasma from it,
however, it doesn’t work slightly correctly.
By the way, the “lantern” was invented by our city speculators - the group 'Allience'.
There is also a system
Gamma-dos in CP/M. It is made in the form of a regular DOS, it has all the same functions, only
it works not with .com files, but with .spc.
Zx-windows works just under it.
Let's give the floor to Sokol/Infotek

Today we will talk (and then, perhaps, we will solder :) about computers'Quo-room-256'. The fact is that many people are confused
by messages from rad programs about the presence of
128Kb of RAM, while SR/M uses
256Kb. In general, the feature for
tyrdos-256 is described below.
This feature uses port #7FFD to address
the upper memory, more precisely the sixth
bit of this port. It may be crooked, but
it’s very simple. It turns out something like Pentagon-256.
and now to the soldering iron!
First of all, you need to find on the MV
the LI1 microcontroller, which is located in the right
upper part of the board in a row of five micro
microcircuits, the two (four) left ones of which are “boomers”. Simply put, you should count the fourth
chip to the left from the upper right corner.
After this, solder the below drawn
circuit...
"Feature V1.0":
first leg LI1┘▌╦
2 1 ·╘╘╘ Ґ╘...
·╘╘√√√√╘╘╧ ·╘╘╘├ ╘Ё╘Ё╘ ╘ ╘
├ 10 Kom \ X---break
І ╨╘╘╘╘├(can be unsoldered)
├
├ - somewhere there
Jumper position 1 corresponds to
128Kb, and, accordingly, position 2 -
256Kb of RAM. that's all, now Oberon
will swear about 256Kb of RAM and load them up to their ears.
Yes, if anyone is interested
whyI need a jumper, I answer - in 256 mode
not all programs that came before will work,
because Some encoders output all sorts of garbage into the high
bits, which leads to
sad circumstances.
For this, I ask you to bow out (c)me, 1998

CP/M 2.2 for ZX Spectrum 128 & Sinclair PROFI.
CP/M BIOS by Michael Markowsky.
CP/M 2.2 is one of the most common
operating systems for computers with an 8-bit processor.
Dividing the system into 3 parts - CCP, BDOS and BIOS allows
to simplify the process of installing an operating system on a computer
with a different architecture, since CCP and BDOS are independent of the machine,
and their interface with hardware is provided by BIOS. Thus
you only need to develop a BIOS for a specific machine.
The presented CP/M 2.2 system was originally
developed for the Spectrum 128K with a slight modification - one additional port was introduced, allowing you to disable the ROM and
allow access to the drive controller ports (1818VG93).
The modification scheme is given in end of the text. The system contains CCP
and BDOS from Digital Research, and the CP/M BIOS was developed by auto-rom.
The system provides 53K of free memory for user programs, RAM-disk, 64x24 console, the screen is in the shadow page and does not take up memory from the main 64K, a full set of
ASCII codes (alternative encoding), 4 selectable encodings
fortext output, high speed of disk work, fast
work with the screen, disk format is fully compatible with the
Sinclair PROFI format, console control codes are
a subset of the Sinclair PROFI console codes, fast loading
process due to the location of all drivers on system
tracks.
A little later, the CP/M BIOS was adapted to the
Sinclair PROFI and Now you can download CP/M 2.2 on both
Pentagon 128 and Sinclair PROFI.
The advantage of the developed CP/M BIOS is
high disk read/write speed. This is achieved by
buffering the entire track (with lazy recording). You can experience a noticeable gain in time when loading the same
programs in SP-DOS and on my system.
CP/M BIOS also contains a built-in RAM disk driver E.
After the system boots, the driver checks for free
memory and automatically configures itself to the appropriate
volume of RAM disk. If your machine contains 128K (Spectrum 128
or Sinclair PROFI 128), then the RAM disk will have a capacity of 48K.
If you have more memory (Sinclair PROFI), then the volume of the disk
E: is equal to the size of the entire memory minus 128K.
To the question "Ramdisk E: format?", which appears
after booting the system, Spectrum 128K owners shouldAlways
answer “Y”, since the memory pages in which the
RAM disk is located are filled with zeros after RESET. Sinclair
PROFI owners should answer "Y" only after the first boot. Subsequently, after the reset, you can with a fairly high probability
be sure that the information on the memory pages allocated
for the RAM disk will remain uncorrupted, and in response to the request
formatting you can answer “N”. alternative,
although the user
can select one of the 4 implemented ones as an external encoding for output (see below).
CP/M BIOS Console control codes are compatible with the Health/Zenith terminal and are a subset of the SYSCOC (Sinclair PROFI) console codes. All ESC sequences and
most CTRL console control codes can be used
not only in output statements within programs, but also when working
with the command processor, entering them directly from the keyboard
in response to the system prompt >. Unlike the command processor SP-DOS (Sinclair PROFI MicroDOS), which simply
swallows all control codes, the command processor CP/M 2.2
counts themwith the wrong command and swears at them. But at the same time
it prints out the wrong command with a question mark, and
therefore all control codes go to the console driver and it
performs all the required actions.

^Enter - NOCONTROL - Cancel/allow processing of
managerscharacters;
^Space (BREAK) - Status Line - Show the console status in the top line
.
When you cancel processing of control characters, all codes
transmitted to the console are immediately displayed on the screen without
checking for their meaning. This continues until the next
^Enter is entered. This feature was introduced in order to determine
visually what control codes are used by the currently running program.
The presence of several modes of console operation required
the creation of means for visually determining the current mode.
The Status Line is used for this. When you press ^Space (BREAK)
the top line of the screen is saved in the buffer, and in its place
the console status is displayed. For input (CONIN), the presence or absence of Caps Lock and the input alphabet (RUS/LAT) are fixed.
For output (CONOUT), the current encoding is fixed (Alternative, KOI8, KOI7, RUS) and the presence or absence of control code processing (CONTROLS / NOCONTROLS).
When the Status Line is displayed, interruptions are disabled and
the system waits for any key to be pressed (accessing the
keyboard ports). Thus, pressing ^Space (BREAK) can
be used to pause the program (pause). After
the keyboard is pressedany key,
the first line of the screen is restored, interrupts are resolved and the suspended program continues its
work.
It should be noted once again that the internal encoding
CP/M BIOS is alternative, and all input is carried out in this
encoding. However, for display on the screen, the user can
select using control codes one of 4 encodings -
ALT, KOI8, KOI7, KOI7 SI/SO. Thus, you can enter text from the
keyboard only in alternative encoding
and print it on the screen in any of the 4 encodings.

Everything that was described in the previous messages was done in
1993. Here are the improvements from 1994-1995:
BIOS Ver 2.11
IM1 interrupt mode instead of IM2
BIOS Ver 2.2
initial diagnostics, support for 8255 and LPrint III
BIOS Ver 2.3
Drives A, B, C - physical, D is mapped to A (phantom
disk). Initial check for the presence of physical disk drives. Initial diagnostics have been expanded. Added
ESC+'j' and ESC+7Fh to the console. When printing on a printer, conversion is carried out (the same as for output to the console). The time
for displaying each character on the screen has been reduced by an average of
470 cycles (nowone and a half times faster).
(phantom drive D: is used when copying on one
drive. For example, if you want to copy a file from one
drive to another, and you only have one drive (A:), then
you can tell the copying program to copy from
A: to D:. In this case, the system will periodically ask
to change the source drive in drive A: and disk receiver).

This system worked for Denis Sotchenko (2:5020/301.7). In fact, he turned out to be a beta tester of this system and all the improvements
1994-1995 (Ver 2.11 - 2.3) were made at his request.

In order to make a system disk, you need to download the file ZXCPM.ZIP or SYSZXCPM.LZH from me. The first archive contains an image of the system disk obtained using TeleDisk. This disk contains, in addition to the system, docks and some useful utilities that allow you to create system disks already under CP/Mom. In the second archive there is only a utility for transferring the system to system tracks and the system itself in binary form.

If it's not too much trouble, find out.
For this, let me bow out. Sincerely, Andrey Khoroshilov.
