CP/M on Spectrum.

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Kirill Frolov To All 12 January 1999

Greetings, All!

I know only 3 implementations of the subject - MOA, ATM-TURBO, PROFI. They work
only on Scorpios, ATM-turbo and pro. But there are still a huge number of other masterpieces of Soviet computer manufacturing. Do they have their own versions of CP/M?
I know for sure that the Pentagon also has CP/M - I hope this is not the version by
Markovsky for which you need to make the Pentagon almost a pro?

Can someone tell me _what_ is on the Pentagon or other Spectrums
besides what is listed?

I have CP/M by me, this is for Scorpio and expansion 512x192. Under Scorpio
because I need RAM from address 0 instead of ROM and the ability to read the VG93 state register in TR-DOS (address 3ff3h in TR-DOS ROM: IN A, (C) : RET). Under the mode
512x192 because 64 characters are always not enough. But this nasty thing _immeasurably_
slows down when _writing_ to disk. How do you know about the brakes? Maybe there is a solution to this problem? It’s also interesting how it’s done on a pro - there’s a rewritten
BDOS, but there’s no desire to disassemble it.

With best wishes, Kirill Frolov.

Hello to you, Kirill!

It happened, 12 Jan 99 at 00:53:43 I heard how
Kirill Frolov addressed All about
CP/M on the Spectrum.
and I decided to add heat to this dialogue.

KF> I know only 3 implementations of the subject - MOA,
KF> ATM-TURBO, PROFI. They work

And there is also a TURBO 2+ (I have one).
However, I can’t tell you anything about it, since I don’t
use it due to the lack of data and software. By the way, maybe
All will help solve this problem?

Now they are trying to explain to you that ATM-TURBO and TURBO 2+ are the same thing.

Sincerely, Vladimir.

Greetings, Vladimir!

It was 14 Jan 99 and 01:00:00, Vladimir Klymus wrote to Sergey Kulkov
on the topic of CP/M on the Spectrum.
Not seeing a moderator nearby, I decided to insert a word:

VK> Now they are stumping you, explaining that ATM-TURBO and TURBO 2+ are one and the same same.

TURBO_2+ is an improved ATM-TURBO. Something is better there, but what
is unknown.

From Kirill Frolov To All 14 January 1999

I call it ATM, IMHO it’s the same thing.
Disks 16 sectors of 256 bytes, 80 tracks 2 sides, the first track is system
(both sides). Cluster size 16 sectors (128 bytes), 128 entries in
directory, 2 clusters allocated for directory.

There is a CP/M on the Pentagon, merged with MSX2. Copyright by RST7 both
hardware and software. I don’t remember exactly (it was a very long time ago), but
the hardware consisted of two small logic chips. The hardware was hung on an ordinary pentagon and somehow distributed pages of RAM. The software was redesigned (shell). All this miracle
was done by J.Adventa, no one else did it. I saw
TurboPascal and something else from the system at work. Then the project
stalled...

And this is the old one. Throw it away. Everything is meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenn.

Hands, left and right, probably...

AG> programs for it?

NOT MUCH. MINIMUM. Only something on which the CPU/M itself could be assembled.
Hitech-C(z80)/Pascal(z80)/M80,L80(z80/i8080)/Mustdie_4ever_C(SuperSoft)(i8080)
and small nasty things like power.

Greetings from Kharkov, Vova!

There was nothing to do, and 15 Jan 99 at 01:36:45
Vova Bakum wrote a letter to Kirill Frolov
I saw this and decided to answer.

So at least it (the circuit, the software) exists, or was it lost?

For this, let me bow out. Sincerely, Andrey Khoroshilov.

AK> So is it (circuit, software) at least there, or is it lost?
I don’t know, I need to find out from Advent. He had the only copy of this miracle. If he hasn't abandoned his Spec yet.

Good Bye, Andrey! With best wishes, Vova Bakum aka (R)soft.

From Maxim Bazarov To All 20 January 1999

-= Hi Kirill! =-

Night. The time is 07:18. And only Kirill tried to tell Sergey something.

KF> There are also problems with the software. There is also little data. What are you interested in?
KF> Of the software, there is only a standard set - M80, L80, TurboPascal, Hitech-C,
KF> SuperSoft C(must die!), SuperText, all sorts of PW,NSW,WM, etc.

KF> 2All: GIVE THE SOFTWARE!
Any Soviet is suitable, if on ATM the sp/m is implemented according to the standard. That is:
BDOS - the same for all machines with sp/m and BIOS with drivers - written specifically
for the machine. This was initially the case in the pro game, but then BDOS was rewritten and lost
partial compatibility. I only used this system under a professional, under ATM
I didn’t even see it (there is no one in the city).

Magnificent Max.
