CMOS in Scorpa

From Eudgine Palenock To All 22 December 1998

Hello, Andrey!

Once, on December 20, 98, someone Andrey Isaev wrote to Valerij Kozhevnikoff
on the topic 'CMOS in Scorpio'...

VK>> And remove reading from #FE in the loop there, please! Or add HALT to the loop,
VK>> Otherwise, it slows down on white controllers of xt/at keyboards.

AI> And in this:
AI> EI
AI> M1 HALT
AI> LD A,#7F
AI> IN A,(#FE)
AI> RRA
AI> JR C,M1

AI> will it work?

will it work?

Sincerely, Evgeniy aka EVP.

From Dmitry Lomov To All 22 December 1998

Hi, Valerij!

VK> the bad i8031 throws so many whites onto the poor Z80 that sometimes it’s easier
to turn off
VK> the computer and turn it on again than to wait until it sorts out these whites.

VK> Just don’t grin maliciously, saying “that’s their problem,” and “this is not the case on
normal
VK> computers happens."
VK> Normal programs of normal programmers are therefore considered
normal
VK> because they work on any hardware.

even on obviously defective ones?
this is by the way, but in general I agree - it is necessary using HALT, since
there is not much difference in how to poll the keyboard... you can
support crooked hardware too.

All the best.
Dmitry.

Hello to you, Valerij !!!

One day on December 22, 98 exactly at 07:08:29 Valerij Kozhevnikoff wrote to
Andrey Isaev on the topic 'CMOS in Scorpa':

VK> And the system operator /468 spends a lot of time
VK> every day (at least an hour, at least) sitting at the computer in your
VK> unzipe and periodically pressing the enter button on
VK> several dozen files of the same type. Of which on one disk

Yeah, and even the cursor position is not saved, so you can miss
something:(

VK> there can be 128 pieces.

only in version 0.6 there can be 100 of them (I read it from the help)

With best wishes, Dmitry.

From Andrey Isaev To All 29 December 1998

AI>> I won’t grin, although this doesn’t happen on normal computers :)
VK> It depends on what is considered normal. On normal computers there is also no
VK> drive B and extended memory. There are no screws or RAM disks on them either.
But this is not necessary!!!! trdos initially has 4 (four!) drives and memory
expanded by #7ffd is also a very old development and is used by many people across the country due to the availability of the circuit, and the Scorpov keyboard controller is used mainly in St. Petersburg and Moscow and because of its secrecy it will not go far.

VK> How else can you explain the logic coders, shoving
VK> truboloders
VK> onles from drive A and turning pages on OUT (#FD), A ?
And this can only be explained by the crookedness of their hands.

VK> Or are our programmers so cool - they don’t know how to count to two?
Why to two? there are only four drives!

VK> pps\
VK> I don’t have drive A. One 3.5" floppy drive at 2.88M, connected as B.
VK> There are no jumpers
VK> on it. And I don’t need to recommend an A/B switch! On normal
VK> computers
VK> there are no switches!
A who will force you to install a switch? just throw a couple of wires in a ribbon to the drive and that’s it!╞══════════════────--

Bah! Who do I see! Andrey, is that you?!

It was 29 Dec 98 at 13:01:51, when
Andrey Isaev still risked writing to Valerij Kozhevnikoff
about CMOS in Scorpio

AI> Well, of course, I feel sorry for you, but I’m still wondering how you
AI> lived before, i.e.
AI> when this didn’t exist at all Anzipa?

It was real hell!
Once again I want to express my gratitude to you (I think the rest of the real-life people
will join me) for such a necessary and necessary program.
I hope version 1.0 will meet all world standards ;)

From Andrey Khoroshilov To All 30 December 1998

Greetings, Andrey!

There was nothing to do, and 29 Dec 98 at 13:01:51
Andrey Isaev wrote a letter to Valerij Kozhevnikoff
I saw this and decided to answer.

AI> VIC's version of Anzip can help you, it looks for packed
AI> mail on the disk ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
AI> and opens it, this thing only works on 512k stumps and only with one
AI> drive, I have no idea how buggy it is because... I've never used it
AI.

Stop this program, please.

ps. Happy New Year everyone. good connections :)

For this, let me bow out. Sincerely, Andrey Khoroshilov.
